Us (2019)

Us is a amazing and truly scary horror movie. Unlike most horror movies the scares aren't jump scares. There are scenes that will stay with you. It wastes no time getting to the scares. The score alone will send shivers down your spine. While I thoroughly enjoyed Get Out this is way more crazy. There's a little humor but it's very scattered.

The Endless

The Endless is a ok movie with a lot of depth but little payoff.

Skyscraper (2018)

The Rock has charisma but even his performance falls flat. It starts off ok but once the action starts it loses everything in exchange for every predictable cliche. The CGI isn't effective and it just feels like it was written by a teenager.

A.X.L. (2018)

AXL is silly. The story is recycled. Short Circuit meets The Karate Kid. There are just too few good moments.

Brie Larson makes her directorial debut with this quirky and whimsical tale. The story is very interesting and the cast work well together. Liking this relies on your ability to appreciate independant films.
