Not a great film- different, visual, well acted but ultimately disappointing.
The day the inmates took over the asylum. I prefer Don't Look in the Basement to this- the payoff was better.
Still it's good to see Pattinson, Binoche and Mia Goth do something different.

It simply just doesn't get better than this. Pure gospel music. Aretha and her great band, the Reverend James Cleveland, a musical director named Alexander Hamilton and an incredible choir- not to mention the people who were gathered in the church to witness!
For those who know what talent is...

Not a great film but a decent one- well acted quite charmingly by the two leads who couldn't appear to be more different. The film has its moments.

Vice (2018)

Cheezy and rushed- that's how it looks and a real disappointment after
The Big Short- but Christian Bale only continues to prove why he is one of the greatest actors in the last century and Amy Adams, Steve Carell, and Sam Rockwell continue to amaze once again. To tell the truth I only sat through this obvious film because I wanted to watch the actors-I was not disappointed.

I got to see this one in 70mm which made the black and white photography seem all the more powerful. This is a very decent film with a few powerful scenes. It definitely takes you to a different time and place as well as culture. Always liked Cuaron's work and this film transcends most of what was released last year strictly on merit.
