Birdboy: The Forgotten Children (Psiconautas, los niņos olvidados)
14 months ago via Rotten Tomatoes
½

'Birdboy: The Forgotten Children' takes you on a trip that is surreal yet seeded with realism. It's mocking at times which are the best moments. When the film gets too serious it loses the casual flair that makes it watchable. It doesn't overstay its welcome at 76 minutes and probably isn't for kids under 13. Despite looking like anime it's actually a Spanish production. There was definitely a lot of thought and precision that went into the making of this and for that alone you should give this a look, however it's not always even and that keeps it from being a great animated film. Final Score: 7.1/10

Miss Kiet's Children
14 months ago via Rotten Tomatoes

If you want to learn how to teach watch 'Miss Kiet's Children'. Kiet Engels is a teacher in a Dutch school educating refugees from various countries. Often there is a language barrier and through patience and understanding Kiet gets through to the kids.

The camera is at the kids height which puts the viewer in their shoes which was a nice touch. As for the film, it does drag at times, but there isn't a moment that a good teacher wouldn't find fascinating. The human element is at full force. This could be any classroom anywhere. Final Score: 7.8/10

Creed II
Creed II (2018)

This is total formula, but it works for me. The boxing is cliche and we all know how it will end, but it's the personal connections you have with the characters that make 'Creed II' a recommended. Buoyed by strong performances from those you'd expect there are plenty of flaws but it provides exactly what you'd expect. I know this won't end here, but it seems like a good place to stop. Final Score: 7.8/10
