Tolkien (2019)
14 months ago via Rotten Tomatoes

The movie recounts the experiences of John Ronald Reuen Tolkien during his early years when he found the inspiration to write many of his fantasy Middle Earth stories with his three friends at school, his beloved Edith and his admiration for language and the fantasy genre, but the horrors of World War I await him. Even though I would have liked to see more of his life beyond that point, the imagery created to parallel his made-up universe is astounding. The score is beautiful and the performances are on point.

Avengers: Endgame
15 months ago via Flixster

Best superhero movie in the history of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. All forces combined in pursuit of the defeat of the worst enemy they have ever faced and who defeated them. Greatest cast I have ever seen in a single film, epic appearances, hilarious jokes, clever plot with some holes, but that can be easily explained. Time travel is always hard to explain and to understand, but they did it quite clearly. Sad deaths but necessary for the effect and the legacy the movie needs to leave on its fans. On its way to becoming the highest-grossing film ever!!

The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part
16 months ago via Rotten Tomatoes

The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part explores the follow-up to the awesome events of the first movie when a new threat emerges, Lego Duplo invaders from outer space that will destroy everything, unless harmony between the two worlds is restored. It is a very smart metaphor of siblings' often estranged relationships and a message of family and growing-up. However, it fails in terms of having the impact that the first part had, given that the surprise factor is no longer there. It was funny because of the self-aware jokes but some dialogue lines were too silly. Also, it seems that another Catchy Song will be around for a while again.

Ellen DeGeneres: Relatable
16 months ago via Rotten Tomatoes

Ellen Degeneres is truly a jewel in our world. Such talent and pride of who she is makes her so relatable in so many ways that I wish we had her in our lives forever. She always makes me laugh with her jokes and incredible anecdotes. May she be with us for years and years.
