Katt Williams: Pimpadelic

Did not know of him until coming across this comedy special. He was very funny and it had some interesting interviews with him as well.

Call Me by Your Name

SO slow. The synopsis sounded interesting but by halfway through I no longer cared about the characters or what happened. I only finished this movie because I wanted to give it the chance to get better.

James MacAvoy is such a great actor! this movie was unsettling, intense and I don't want to post any spoilers

The Lobster
The Lobster(2016)

concept is interesting but is very slow. not entirely sure what the point was by the end

utterly disturbing from the very beginning. I felt like throwing up through pretty much the whole film. if it was supposed to be some metaphor or hidden artsy message I definitely didn't get it. I wish I never watched it

La La Land
La La Land(2016)

This movie is amazing! Beautiful music! Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone do a wonderful job playing the couple in this movie. I loved that I got to see Ryan Gosling sing and dance, and he used his skills of playing the piano like he does for Dead Man's Bones. So many feels in this movie, I do not want to spoil it for anyone

Birdemic: Shock And Terror

As a video editor everything about this film hurt me. Not only was the story, acting, lightning and everything in production bad, but the editor obviously did not know anything about film or the program they were using. This was beyond "so bad it is good', it was just god awful. You could totally tell that the editor made cuts based on action and added the dissolves after. And that is only one of too many problems. Acting was so bad, audio off, gun shots off, CG just terrible. Story was all over the place and just plain bad. Worst movie I have EVER seen! Including high school and college films. I get films being bad to be funny, but this is just plain bad.

The Room
The Room(2003)

The ADR and acting hurt me. As a video editor this movie was unbearable, the acting was terrible and as a viewer I didn't care about any of the characters. only the mom and mark showed any potential as actors. gave me a good laugh, with the help of a few drinks

X-Men: Apocalypse

I absolutely loved it!! I don't know why people were complaining.

Attack On Titan: Part 2 (Shingeki no kyojin endo obu za warudo)

I've watched the anime but I have not read the manga so it seemed like they changes a lot. and it certainly got weirder than the anime

Attack on Titan: Part 1 (Shingeki no kyojin)

Holy crap they nailed the designs of the titans! That first scene with them was so creepy!! I really like the actor playing Eren. They changed some parts about the story, but I still really enjoyed it

Tales of Halloween

Randomly came across this movie and didn't know what to expect. Really liked the one kidnapper character in the story with the goblin type creature. Was expecting a kids TV movie by the title, but it was actually gory and definitely meant for adults. a lot better than we expected

Super gory, but the makeup was amazing! wouldn't consider it a scary movie, just disturbing.

good concept to keep a low budget. Found it to be more weird than scary. Glad they often had the camera on a steady surface instead of whipping around and shaking a lot. it was unsettling and the two actors did a good job

OMG OMG Cooties was an amazing movie! Hilarious! As long as you are okay with zombies, you have to go see it! I had it so hyped up in my mind and I was not disappointed! It was filmed really well and the editing often had an Edgar Wright feel to it. I was excited for this movie because of Elijah Wood but enjoyed everything about it. "Hey look guys, Carnage! :)"

It Follows
It Follows(2015)

I usually hate horror movies. but so many people were going on about how great this movie was, I was curious to watch it. especially when Elijah wood and chris hardwick raved about it at comic con. I really liked how they filmed it and the music was awesome. The movie was very unsettling but that is a much better horror movie than ones that rely on cheap jump scares. I actually really liked it

Maps to the Stars

If you want to watch something really confusing and weird, watch this film. So lost by the end but I love how it was filmed and the acting was really good.

The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies

My favourite of the three hobbit movies but still doesn't hold a candle to lord of the rings

Dracula Untold

Halloween time and had movie coupons. Seemed like a fitting theme, but turned out to be a movie that wanted to be lotr two towers mixed with a romance. Effects were good, but way too many obvious holes with many scenes

Frank Miller's Sin City: A Dame to Kill For

Amazing! I really love Robert Rodriguez's movies

This movie literally just crapped all over the original cartoon I grew up with. I expected it to be kind of like Wicked where it's a poor misunderstood villain blah blah but at least wicked kept true to the original story timeline! It made you just realize why the wicked witch did what she did. Maleficent not only took away all the awesome parts of the villian, like making the crow turn into a dragon instead of her, but tried to make her the good guy in the end. Aurora doesn't care her parents are dead at all, cause I guess she saw her dad as a evil dick too. And it's like Disney is obsessed with the "I don't need no man" theme they had going in Frozen, cause they did it here too. And that's where the movie really lost me. Which is a shame because Angelina Jolie does a great job, the CG is amazing, design are beautiful and the costuming is gorgeous. But that is all wasted on the pile of crap story they went with.

The Monuments Men

Amazed at how bad this was with such a great cast. It was really slow and the soundtrack did not match at all! Too happy/Disney sounding for too many scenes I think we're meant to be serious. And some obvious attempts at jokes, that weren't funny. Kept switching between being serious and goofy and not sure which it meant to be by the end.

Celeste and Jesse Forever

I bought this movie because Elijah Wood is in it, turns out he only has a couple scenes. But I ended up really enjoying the movie. I love how it was shot, the soundtrack is great and I really liked the story the characters go through.

Pacific Rim
Pacific Rim(2013)

Way too many predictable, and impossible things happened. The effects were amazing though

American Psycho

Finally watched this. Christian bale is really good in this, plays crazy pretty well apparently. Was confused by the end, but I get why film classes always include this movie. Definitely worth watching

Escape From Tomorrow

Really neat how they filmed this, but so confusing! And obvious when green screen was used. Love the creepy effects on the rides. And glad there are people outside my family that do not believe those are turkey legs. Great opening scene that instantly got our attention too.

Love the concept of showing through the killer's eyes, music was awesome, but my god the gore! More graphic than I expected.

Not sure why this movie has so much hype. Animation was beautiful, but did not feel invested in the characters or story the way that most Disney movies do

Frances Ha
Frances Ha(2013)

Slow but a good movie. The actress was great, it felt like watching a real person in their life and not an act.

Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues

Wasn't as funny as I thought it would be. But the last quarter of the movie was really entertaining

American Hustle

Acting was amazing but found the story slow and boring. Ending was good but felt like it took too long

Before Midnight

Very impressive acting and dialogue writing. A lot of well done long shots. All about the conversations

Captain Phillips

So much better than I expected! Very entertaining and tense

The Wolf of Wall Street

Liked it but didn't love it. Leonardo Dicaprio was amazing! But the story seemed a bit slow, and more about sex than anything

So intense! And amazing graphics!!! Best movie I have seen Sandra bullock in, and I am not a fan of hers

Despicable Me 2

Boring, not funny and way too much focus on the minions

Deep Impact
Deep Impact(1998)

Saw (and own) this movie because of Elijah Wood. Overall I really do like this movie though. Millions of times better than Armageddon :P

Black and White

The one Elijah Wood movie I really didn't like. But I couldn't bring myself to give it a horrible rating cause it was kind of different

Sin City
Sin City(2005)

Great actors and amazing visuals. Had the perfect comic book feel

Green Street Hooligans

Saw it for Elijah Wood but loved the whole movie! Thought he was great in it too

Happy Feet
Happy Feet(2006)

I love it!!! Had heard about it years eariler because Elijah Wood did the voice in it and it was great!! Well worth the wait!!

Paris Je T'aime

I love this film so much! All the different directors, actors and styles all based on the same topic and place. It was great! Originally saw it because Elijah Wood is in it but love the artsy style of the whole thing!

Day Zero
Day Zero(2007)

Bought it because Elijah was in it and was very happy with it. Well put together and really tells the different perspectives of the different characters. Really enjoyed it

The Oxford Murders

This wasn't released in Canada when it came out so I had to order it from overseas when it came out on DVD. Finally watched it. I enjoyed it but they made so many possibilities seem too obvious that you knew there had to be a catch at the end. I thought Elijah Wood and John Hurt did a great job though.

Was looking forward to this for a few years, Tim Burton and Elijah Wood involved in the same film was like a dream come true. The animation was really cool and the voice acting was really good, but the movie did not live up to my expectations. Though the trailer was excellently edited.
Absolutely love some of the character designs

The Great Gatsby

I LOVE Baz luhrmann's movies. Especially for his music choices and cutting/effect styles. In both of these categories he did not disappoint with the great gatsby. I am hooked on the soundtrack and many times I found the music driving the scene more than the actors lines. Leonardo dicaprio was very good in it, but I am still not convinced that Tobey McGuire can act well. I did enjoy this movie and want to watch it again, but I don't think I will get as much replay out of it as I do his previous movies. I will definitely buy the soundtrack though

The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2

Finally got the battle we've always wanted! Thank you director! But that was a really creepy baby face. I understand why they didn't use a real baby but that was really creepy

The Dictator
The Dictator(2012)

Thought it was going to be really funny, but I only laughed once. Mostly cheap racist jokes. Really disappointed

Loved it! Hilarious! But they covered so many genres I am hoping it was to make fun of typical blockbusters. And my god can Giovanni ribosi play creepy

Snow White and the Huntsman

I liked it but I didn't love it. The effects, costumes, cinematography and music were amazing, and most of the actors were good, but Kristen Stewart did not come up to par with the others, especially when giving a speech. The army she rallied must have been listening to something else cause her making a powerful speech was just sad. And there were quite a few plot points that were too obvious. But the effects and costumes, and Charlize Theron playing a witch so well, made this worth seeing on the big screen for me

Rock of Ages
Rock of Ages(2012)

I know it's a musical but my god there was a lot of singing. Great cast though and had some really funny moments. Alec Baldwin and Russell brand really made this movie for me

The Iron Lady

Meryl Streep was excellent in this movie, but it was very slow

Underworld: Awakening

All I expected with this movie was a lot of action, blood and CG and that's exactly what it was. Really weird story though in comparison to the previous movies

The Adventures of Tintin

Amazing CG animation! And love the actors doing the voices. Some of it was over the top but was still a great movie!

Conan the Barbarian

The amount of inconsistancies in this movie was insane! The only good thing was the effects, especially the CG work on the sand fighters. But it really felt like the story was sacrificed for more fighting scenes.

Captain America: The First Avenger

Really entertaining! And had it's funny moments too. I really liked this movie!

The Muppets
The Muppets(2011)

Really liked this movie. Loved the Muppets as a kid and this stayed true to them. Only thing it was missing was Rizo

Happy Feet Two

Amazing animation!! One of the few times I have fully enjoyed the 3D aspect. I always enjoy a movie involving Elijah Wood as well :)

The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1

Loved it! Not the best one, and the music score was pretty bad. But loved the movie and was actually better than I expected. The CG work they must have done on Bella was amazing!

The Rum Diary

Expected Fear and Loathing, and it wasn't. Still a good movie and Giovanni Ribisi was a big surprise in it!

Amazing movie. So well made and great script. With Seth Rogen in it I was worried it would be goofy, but he made it have really funny moments without taking away from the serious story. Still can't get over how funny yet how depressing the movie was, never seen it done so well before

The Ides of March

Saw this opening day since it stars Ryan Gosling. Great cast in this movie. I am not into politics and still enjoyed this movie.

Great cast and an interesting story. I liked this movie a lot more than I thought I would.

Starter for 10

Watched it because James McAvoy is in it. It was an interesting movie, but was mislabled as a comedy so it was not what I expected. But still good

It was exactly what I expected, an entertaining excuse to stare at Taylor Lautner. When the poster was nothing but his face, you couldn't expect much of a story. Not as cheesy as I feared it would be but not all that great either. I enjoyed it because it was entertaining as an action type movie and I went in without high expectations. And again, got to stare at Taylor Lautner.

Saw this the day it came out because Ryan Gosling is in it, and it is amazing! I absolutely love how they shot this movie. Especially the opening scene. Awesome camera angles and love the funky music in it. And you just feel the tension for them in that first scene. The whole movie is great. And not for people with a weak stomach, there is quite a bit of gore. I love when Ryan Gosling does independent movies like this.

Rise of the Planet of the Apes

Went to see it because Tom Felton and Andy Serkis are in it. The CG was amazing! I really liked the story, the music and how they filmed it. Really glad I saw it in theaters.

Crazy, Stupid, Love.

Loved it! Recommend it to everyone. I went to see it because Ryan Gosling stars in it and it turned out to be a great movie. Very well written, really funny and I loved the music they used in it. Definitely want to see it again and I will buy it when it comes out on DVD. Ryan Gosling was something else in this. Like an upgraded version of his Sean Hanlon, hot guy with a sense of humour but a lot cooler

Vampires Suck

This was typical of all the other movies this group has created.Really good at replicating sets and costumes, but otherwise just really stupid and not that funny.

I was never into the original show and I think that is why I liked this movie, while it seems most people didn't. I really liked Michael Caine in it as well. I did find the whole premise of the movie a bit odd though that they had Isabella mirror Samantha and then make another show of it. I guess that was there way of making it more modern

Idle Hands
Idle Hands(1999)

The scenes were Jessica Alba falls for him are so unrealistic, like she is desperate or really stupid. But I really like the rest of the movie

Red Riding Hood

I liked it but did not love it. So loosely related to red riding hood it should not have used the title at all. And way too many shots similar to Twilight. I did enjoy it but the trailers and title led you to believe a totally different genre and feel to the movie than it actually was. If you are looking for adult version of Red Riding Hood, I would sooner recommend Company of Wolves

The Hangover Part II

Did not laugh anywhere near as much as the first movie. Seemed like a cookie cutter of the first but less funny, more inappropriate, and focused more on Zach Galifianakis since he had fame from the first one. Was really just a money grab and glad I did not pay full price to see it. Paul Giamatti was a nice surprise in it though

Green Lantern

CG work was good. However the villiians were lacking and generally seemed unclimactic. Glad I saw this at a drive in for a cheaper price then overpriced theater 3D. And the love interest actress was unimpressive

Sucker Punch
Sucker Punch(2011)

The idea seemed too similar to Alice Madness Returns. I love how they shot it and the effects were amazing. I liked it, but I didn't love it like I expected to. Still wish I could have seen this in theaters but it was only out for two weeks here.

All Good Things

Wanted to watch it because Ryan Gosling is in it, and he is amazing as always. This movie really gave me the chills. Can't believe it is based on a true story. Also shocked I couldn't find this in theaters with all the big names in it

X-Men: First Class

Loved it! Want to see it again. I know some facts didn't match the comics, but it didn't wreck the film. It was a great movie to watch! Made up for the atrocity of X-Men 3! At least for me it did

Hot Rod
Hot Rod(2007)

Finally saw this after seeing Brad Swaile dress as Rod Kimble for Halloween. A lot of these guys are really funny on SNL and I actually like this movie. I didn't find it hilarious but I didn't hate it either

Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides

not as good as the first ones. Was looking forward to more Jack Sparrow quirkyness but it wasn't as funny as the first movie. I liked it, but it was obviously seperate from the previous films in the way the story was told and how it was filmed in a way

Really like Bill Murray with the Gopher, but got bored with the rest of the movie. Can see why it is so famous though. I had seen this a long time ago and just realized I didn't rate it on here ^-^;;

Your Highness

Not sure if I liked it or not. It wasn't as funny as I was expecting. It relied too way too heavily on using swear words you wouldn't normally hear in a fantasy medival movie. I liked Natalie Portman and James Franco in it though. Also liked the design and effects.

Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas

Absolutely butchered the original story and the cartoon. The filler was just awful! The only good thing was the makeup

Big Stan
Big Stan(2009)

Was really ridiculous but was expecting so much worse. Guess it is one of those times that my expectations were so low to begin with that I was pleasently surprised it wasn't a train wreck. Did seem like it was made just because Rob Schneider wanted to look cool for once since he would otherwise never be cast as a fighting type character. Was kind of funny that his mom was cast in it too though/

Beginning of the movie had an amazing scene. The visual effects and the way they filmed the tsunami was incredibly well. The only problem is that the movie became really slow shortly after that.

The King of Kong: A Fistful of Quarters

I love how this was put together. Had to watch this for class and glad I did cause I really enjoyed this movie

Blue Valentine

I have been waiting for this movie to come out since I first heard about it. Ryan Gosling is amazing in this movie. I love how they tell the story of this couple in the order that they show scenes and flashbacks. I really wish this was playing in more theaters and nearby. I think Ryan Gosling deserved at least an Oscar nomination for this one. Really amazing the way they act from when they are younger to when they are older.

Get Him to the Greek

I was expecting a hilarious comedy, or at least some slightly clever dialogue. But I remember laughing once in the whole movie, and wishing I had that 2 hours of my life back.

Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief

It started out looking like it had potential, between some of the big names and really good visual effects. But then it became like swiss cheese, way too many holes in the story to the point of being laughable. And the fact that a greek set mythology was suddenly relocated to the USA for no reason was really irritating.

The Kids Are All Right

I got really bored with this movie. It just started to feel like we were just sitting there waiting for the next bad thing to happen. I understand it was trying to show what these people were going through, but I did not find it drawing me in or entertaining me at all to make it worth my time to watch. It didn't help that it was categorized as a comedy and was not that at all. It was definitely a drama and I can't believe comedy was ever mentioned in it's summary.

The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader

Loved it! And found it very true to the books. Visual Effects were amazing!! This one is worth seeing in 3D at the theaters. And some parts were a lot scarier than I thought they would design it.

The Tourist
The Tourist(2010)

Really enjoyed this movie. Johnny Depp is great as always. Also like Angelina Jolie better in this movie than I usually do. And I really liked how it was in Venice for the most part. Glad that I saw this in theaters.

Wristcutters: A Love Story

very interesting and unique idea for a movie.

Due Date
Due Date(2010)

Wasn't bad, but it wasn't amazingly funny either. I did enjoy it and I really like Robert Downey Jr.

National Lampoon's Van Wilder

Wasn't as bad as I expected. A good hangout or background movie.

Zach Galifianakis: Live at the Purple Onion

very different. Had it on while doing homework, and it was a different setup to standup comedy than I expected.

Erik the Viking

It was listed in a Comedy genre, but I only found a few parts to be funny. Some of the characters were interesting, but not a movie I need to see again.

The Gamers: Dorkness Rising

In the first few minutes it seems like it will be really bad, but it is actually really entertaining. I enjoyed a lot of the dialogue

Bram Stoker's Dracula

Extremely messed up! I was confused for most of the movie. But the makeup, costumes and shots were amazing! Definitely worth watching.

Death at a Funeral

Painful to watch. Felt a lot longer than an hour and a half. No where near as funny as I expected it to be, just awkward. The only good parts were some of James Marsden's acting and that Peter Dinklage was in it.

Loved it! Very entertaining. Turned out even better than I thought it would be and did not disappoint in the "cheese" department, as you would expect from the original mock trailer. I always love Robert Rodriquez's work and so glad I saw this in theaters while it was out here. Had a lot of dark humour and and many of us were laughing for a lot of this movie. Will definitely watch this again.

Scott Pilgrim vs. the World

I loved this movie!! I was not expecting much when I went to see it, but it was great!! Love the style of it, especially how they kept a lot of elements of the graphic novel. And it was hilarious! The effects were really well done too. And how could I not love that it is based in Toronto?? Pretty amusing seeing such an awesome movie take place on Yonge st so much. Definitely will buy it when it come out! Can't wait to watch it again!

Finishing the Game

had thought it was more of a comedy then it turned out to be. well done mockumentary, but was not what I was expecting to watch, and felt too slow many times.

Diary of a Wimpy Kid

watched it with my family. It was cute. Much better than a lot of goofy, painful kids movies lately.

The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus

I love the artsy style of this movie and the cast was great! An original story and a movie I will watch more than once.

Dinner for Schmucks

Was not as funny as I expected, maybe laughed twice. Big cast, but the movie quality did not live up to all their names. For the most part, it was just painful to watch. But his mouse artwork was kind of cute.

They really over advertised this movie. Wasn't that impressed with it. Was expecting a twist, but not that they'd leave it for a sequel. So I am glad I saw it at the drive in and not at full price

Raising Arizona

Glad I finally got to watch this. Some really neat shots in this movie. And can't get over Nicolas Cage in it! Just his hair and facial expressions were hilarious! Finding that it is extremely rare to not be impressed by a Cohen movie

Rocky V
Rocky V(1990)

SO predictable. And when a movie has more than 2 montages, you know it's bad.

The Last Airbender

I couldn't wait for this movie to come out. I saw it opening day. I am a huge fan of the show Avatar and I am happy to say this did not get butchered like Dragonball, which I was afraid of. The costumes, set designs and props were nailed from the show. Especially Oppa and Momo. A few characters were altered in their appearance and in some cases a bit in the personality but not enough to ruin it. I will definitely see this again. The CG graphics were amazing as well, but I did not see the need for it being in 3D. The only things that bothered me was them mispronouncing Aang's name, and I am still not sure why they did that, and that Zukko wasn't hotter, cause that character does have a fangirl following

The Twilight Saga: Eclipse

Loved it! They made it a bit more mature and darker which was great. And OMG Howard Shore! I feel so geeky cause I recognized his style of music and had to stay to check in the credits, and I was right ^-^ And more fighting and CG in these kinds of movies is always good

Rain Man
Rain Man(1988)

Finally watched this! Tom Criuse and Dustin Hoffman are great in this.It was well filmed and great acting. Completely understandable why it gets referenced in so many film classes.

Grown Ups
Grown Ups(2010)

Saw it at the drive in. It was funny. Good summer movie

The Karate Kid

Saw it at the drive in. Thought it was going to be extremely childish and lame but thankfully I was wrong. I thought it was actually pretty good. I enjoyed it anyways

Die Hard
Die Hard(1988)

Last of the trilogy I have watched, And the most entertaining!! Alan Rickman is amazing, especially with his multiple accesnts, non of which are his own, and Bruce Willis is more believable beccause his character is scared and unsure majority of the time, which is more believable, whereas in the sequels that I had seen previously he is more confident and "hero" and not as convincing as a character. Not to mention his wife that he wants to save is successful and not a complete supermodel which is great to see and more realistic. After seeing all the sequels, this one has become my favourite! Going into it I thought it would disappoint, because I thought they would improve with each sequel, but I was wrong! This is the best one!! And made me admire Alan Rickman even more by taking a stereotype evil action character and proving how much he could do with it!

Die Hard: With a Vengeance

great with Samuel Jackson! Very entertaining

A Nightmare on Elm Street

Got talked into watching it. Usual slasher horror movie. Only good part was that Thomas Dekker was in it and I have met him.

How to Train Your Dragon

really good animation. It wasn't as childish as I expected either so I really enjoyed it

Iron Man 2
Iron Man 2(2010)

Fun movie. But I was not as impressed as all of my friends seem to be with it

Crazy Heart
Crazy Heart(2009)

Didn't even finish watching it, and that very rarely happens for me. Found it way too slow and seemed to be going nowhere. And from the hour and a bit I watched of it, did not find the acting as impressive as the Oscars did. May try and watch it again sometime, but not anytime soon.

The Goodbye Girl

I thought it seemed really well written. A lot of the dialogue was really clever. Overall I really enjoyed it

National Lampoon's Animal House

guess it is more of a guy's movie, I didn't find it all that funny. But am really glad I finally watched it

Little Shop of Horrors

Finally saw this movie! Wow that puppet plant is impressive! It was so well made and moved so well! That beat any CG they could have done, in my opinion, because it was actually there and was more believable. So glad I saw it. And took a while to realize it was Steve Martin. Pretty funny cameo of Bill Murray too.

The Back-up Plan

What you would expect from the trailer and genre. It had it's funny moments though so wasn't as painful as most in this kind of genre.

Alice in Wonderland

Saw it midnight showing opening night at Downtown Disney and 3D was sold out so saw the regular version. But it was still excellent! Finished rereading Alice and Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass 5 minutes before the film started ^-^ love how they put in the Jabberwocky and other things from the stories that never made it into the cartoon movie. And the March Hare and Mad Hatter were a riot and very well done!! I just loved everything about it! Just wish I could have dressed in costume like so many other people that showed up at that theater in Florida ^-^

The Player
The Player(1992)

Interestng concept, and a lot of neat shots and ways of using sound. But constantly got bored with the story.

The Lovely Bones

Stanley Tucci was very good as this role. Of course saw both Peter Jackson and a poster for Lord of the Rings in it.

Story was slow, and not very interesting. Tried to watch it twice and have yet to finish it. Very disappointed since the cast suggested a better movie.

The Blind Side

good story to tell. But not sure why Sandra Bullock is getting nominated for best actress for this one. She was okay but not that great.

Julie & Julia

not usually into chick flicks. I thought Meryl Strep was great in it but found the story anti-climatic.

It's Complicated

story moved kind of slow but the cast was great!

The Hurt Locker

Filmmed in an interesting way. Definately feels like watching a documentary with the camera shots they used. Had a few more hollywood type shots too but not enough to change the feel they were going for. Cast did an amazing job. Very tense movie to watch.

Precious: Based on the Novel Push by Sapphire

utterly depressing. Definately only going to watch it once. Cast was good and the story was a disturbing one and I can see why it is getting so much attention

Great cast. Daniel Day-Lewis is amazing as always

definately going to see this one on the oscar list.

The Fly
The Fly(1958)

Finally got to watch this. I really liked it. Love older horror movies like this because they focus on the story and not how many times they can startle you. The actress in it was great too. And will never forget that last famous scene with the fly

Ninja Assassin

So much gore! I actually really liked this movie. The lead guy was really good in it. My only complaints about it are that the blood looked really "mortal kombat" fake at times and the woman kept doing such stupid things I almost thought it was a horror movie and times. But the fighting was really well done in it and had a decent back story

Whatever It Takes

very predictable. Sad thing is, better than most teen movies that came out at that time as a teenager

Fantastic Mr. Fox

loved it! favourite book as a kid and loved how it was classical stop motion animation

The Twilight Saga: New Moon

I loved it! Enjoyed it a lot more than the first one. Some moments seemed a bit rushed, bu5t a movie has a time constraint so they had to do it somewhere. The only thing I did not like was the new vampire contacts, way too big and brighter so they did not blend in with humans as much as the first movie

Disney's A Christmas Carol

The animation is amazing!! Love how the characters look similar to the actors as well. Was afraid disney would kill the story by making it cheesy or to kiddy but they didn't, and it was great! Want to see it again, and next time in 3D!

Disaster Movie

It was on TV so watched it. Terrible! The actors recreating enchanted were really good as them but that was about it.
Just stupid and gross jokes that were not funny at all. And I think Alvin and the Chipmunks have now scarred me for life.

Bleach: Fade to Black, I Call Your Name (Gekij˘ ban Burţchi: Feido t˘ burakku - Kimi no na o yobu)

Great! Had excellent animation and absolutely loved all the music!! This was so much better than Memories of Nobody

Bleach: Memories of Nobody

It was okay, but not great.Story felt very lacking.

Evangerion shin gekij˘ban: Jo (Evangelion: 1.0 You Are (Not) Alone) (Neon Gensis: Evangelion 1.01 You Are (Not) Alone)

Was disappointed, did not realize it was going to be a remake of the series so I got bored watching it since I already knew what was going to happen.
Some new angel designs were cool and the animation was so much better, but didn't need to see it in theaters.

Last Chance Harvey

Thought this film was just going to be depressing but it actually turned out to be really good.I think Dustin Hoffman and Emma Thompson are always great though

Death to Smoochy

Finally got to watch the whole movie! I love Robin Williams and Edward Norton!! This movie actually had a lot of interesting shots in it too. Not sure why it did so badly

Had to see it since it is such a huge part of pop culture, even though I am usually terrible with moives like this. The head of that alien is so freaky, such a good design.

Most childish Miyasaki movie I have ever seen, and I still love it! The animation is beautiful, and the voice acting was really well done! And the kids in the theater really got excited which made me smile.

Road to Bali
Road to Bali(1952)

It was on TV so I watched it. It was the usual silliness of the movies my grandma has shown me, but I quite enjoyed it. And the graphics they attempted with the dancing women and the title at the end were really good considering when it was made. And for these kinds of movies, Bing Crosby and Bob Hope are great!

Inglourious Basterds

I LOVE Quentin Taratino's work! In this movie, it has a lot to do do with the kinds of shots he chooses to us for certain scenes, his usual choice of soundtrack, and the sutle things like the sound of the ceiling fans in the theater eveytime someone goes up the stairs. Just thought it was a great movie.

Marie Antoinette

One of the worst movies I have ever seen. I watched it back when it was up for an academy award for costume design. I can't stand Kirsten Dunst and this movie completely reinforced my opinion that she is a bad actress. Oh and as for costuming in it, did anyone else catch the pair of sneakers in the shot of her shoe collection on the floor?

District 9
District 9(2009)

I throughly enjoyed this movie! Love the concept and absolutely loved how they pulled it off! Amazingly well integrated effects as well.

Not the most entertaining thing I have ever seen, that's for sure. It was just pointless to watch. It was too much stupid to be funny. The beginning of it seemed to have a point but was not enough to really hold up a whole movie.

The Proposal
The Proposal(2009)

I had avoided watching this because I can't stand Sandra Bullock or Ryan Reynolds. But my mom wanted to go see it so I watched it. If it wasn't for the entertaining moments with Betty White, I don't think I would have enjoyed this movie very much. It was really predictable and not really that interesting

Keeping the Faith

Only watched this because I am trying to watch all of Edward Norton's movies. Some of it was good, but generally I just felt sorry for his character. The main girl's actions just tick me off through this movie and I don't find it very enjoyable to watch. Not one I would watch again.

In Bruges
In Bruges(2008)

A movie with some pretty good actors, that show how different events connect to the outcome of future events. I really like Brendan Gleeson and Ralph Fiennes in this.

Role Models
Role Models(2008)

Watched this as a recommendation from my manager, and glad he did! I absolutely loved it! Thiough some of my favourite lines were in the first ten minutes. I usually hate Sean William Scott so I avoid his movies so I am glad it was recommended. I freaking loved the kid into renaissance festivals! The fact he was a geek and into dressing up I completely loved it, and related to him. I think that is why I loved this movie so much. Thankfully I have more understanding parents though. But I definately want to add this movie to my collection now!

Monty Python's Life of Brian

can't go wrong with monty python!! i love it! Still wondering why we cant make comedies of this caliber anymore.

Super Mario Bros.

I had no idea John Leguizamo was in it. When I found out I had to watch it! Weird way of twisting the game concept to match modern life. Wasn't too great though. Pretty stupid most of the time, and it was so far from the characters it was based on it really bugged me. Actually took a few times to finish it cause I kept falling asleep with it on.

Super Troopers

More amusing than I thought it would be. Glad I watched it.

Knocked Up
Knocked Up(2007)

Pretty funny. Glad I finally saw it.

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince

I absolutely love it! A few things buged me that they changed or left out, but I know there are time constraints. The effects are amazing in it and I really love the music in it. Saw it opening day and again two days later and enjoy it still. And I loved being able to dress up while working at Galaxy for it!

It had it's really funny moments, but mostly it was just awkward to watch. I only went to see it cause I had 3 hours before my shift and 2 friends were going to see it. Definately needs to be rated R. I can't believe he didn't get killed for some of the situations he was in. You definately need an open mind to see this movie.

Public Enemies

Some great shots and of course great acting. It was exactly like I expected this genre of movie to be like, it did not disappoint me.

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen

I loved it! Epitimy of summer Blockbuster!! Effects and sound were just as impressive as the first movie. And I just love that it was edited in Avid and I saw a Naruto poster!! lol
Fun movie to watch, and everything you would expect from a movie like this

I love this movie!! There are so many references to geek films, not only Star Wars, and I was killing myself laughing so many times! I definately need to buy a copy of this. And the cameos in this were awesome. I am so mad we never got this at our theater. Can't believe I recognized Jay Baruchel from shows I watched as a kid lol

I am used to anime being pretty out there but this one was really messed up! Love the animation, but not too sure about the storyline

The Hangover
The Hangover(2009)

Pretty funny movie, I don't usually enjoy these kinds of movies but this one was good. The credits have scarred my brain though.

Angels & Demons

Thought it was great! I always like Ewan McGregor and Tom Hanks. And as always the music from Hans Zimmer was epic and awesome!

Loved seeing this in 3D. As usual Pixar's animation just blows my mind. They covered a lot of serious things in this movie quite well. Really makes me think of what we are doing with our lives and how a different point of view can change things from disappointing to really happy.

Terminator Salvation

Ithought it was great! The effects were awesome and a lot of the big robot scenes really scared me. Glad to see Anton Yelchin getting more work too!

Stone of Destiny

I really liked this movie, especially since a lot of my family is from Scotland. and loved the fact that Billy Boyd was in it. Was surprised to find out in the credits how much Canada was involved with this film.
Unfortunately it only played for one showing as a special cineseries presentation. I wish it had made it into regular theaters as well.

Star Trek
Star Trek(2009)

I was never a fan of the show, but I love this movie!! It is awesome!! I really hope they make another one too, because it had such a great cast, it would be a shame to waste it.

Thought the fact that "Skylar" was Spock would really bother me, but it didn't take long to get over that. He did such a good job I easily forgot about it. And so glad Simon Pegg and Karl Urban were in it ^-^

X-Men Origins - Wolverine

I LOVED IT!! I saw it twice today(once paid and once employee screening), and even tried to cosplay Rogue for it ^-^ Dominic Monaghan was in it!!! I was so excited for that! And finally brought in Gambit which was Awesome and Taylor Kitsch made it such a fan service!! And the effects were great!! I just loved it all! Hugh Jackman really does play a perfect Wolverine. I really enjoyed getting more of his back story. And this is the only movie I have seen Ryan Renolds in where I actually liked him. Overall loved it and as an X-men fan, worth the wait

17 Again
17 Again(2009)

I was completely against seeing this movie! But went with a few friends cause there wasn't much else on worth seeing. I am scared to say, I actually liked it. And I am not sure if it was all the Lord of the Rings and Star Wars references, or the fact he wasn't singing kids songs, but the movie actually made me stop hating Zac Efron! I think it has actually made me really like him!! I think I may even buy this movie when it comes out, especially with all the geek fandom references that I love so much

Monsters vs. Aliens

Animation was really good, 3D was cool, and it was a lot more amusing than I thought it was going to be.

Framed for Murder

Stumbled upon it on TV. Thought it was a cheap mystery TV show at first and was surprised to discover it was a movie. Overly perdictable and not very convincing actors. Definately not impressive at all

L: Change the World

The actor that plays L is so good! I am glad they made another movie of Death Note

Dragonball Evolution

Went dressed as Bulma to the late show of Dragonball. Wasn't very busy. The effects were really cool! And I like the lead guy. But if you are passionate about the original show, you might not like this. They kind of buture certain characters and parts to make it more modern and american I guess. But at least the end song was in japanese, and the dragonballs themselves were cool. I think how they changed Yamcha was what ticked me off the most. Justin Chatwin was really good, and he's hot lol still pleased at how they tried to actually make his hair like Goku, which is awesome.

Max Payne
Max Payne(2008)

Saw it on the plane. The effects were well done but overall wasn't a very good movie.

I loved it! Amazing CG and some great shots too. Costumed heroes, dark stories, sex, gore, what more could a geek ask for? :)

The Seeker: The Dark Is Rising

not that great. Fair attempt at combining a lot of popular movie genres. Was like Lord of the Rings, meets Harry Potter, meets the modern teenage world. The fact he had an infactuation with a girl that looks so much older she would be arrested for dating him, bothered me. The henchmen near the beginning was the scariest part of the whole movie, more than the actual evil boss.

Lawrence of Arabia

Finally watched this classic. Peter O'toole is so great in it. Can definately tell it is an epic movie. My god so much music! The shots in this film are amazing as well

The Neverending Story II: The Next Chapter

If I could give this a negative rating I would. I loved the first

Great animation and awesome in 3D. Loved how the art direction got darker. Reminded me too much of the storyline of Mirrormask though so was not very original to me. But overall I liked it. Having it in 3D did give it a lot of bonus points for me though

The Duchess
The Duchess(2008)

Very depressing story. I felt so bad for her watching this! It was very good though. And amazing costumes!

The Visitor
The Visitor(2008)

Very slow movie. I think it made a lot of good points but overall was not a very strong film. Definately not one I will watch a second time.

The Reader
The Reader(2008)

Very sad story. Great acting in this.

Revolutionary Road

The acting is really great in this. Depressing story but makes a lot of good points and is more real instead of fluffing things up like a romance.

Paul Blart: Mall Cop

Crap. This was so bad!! Not funny AT ALL! Not even stupid funny. Just bad. Watched it at a work event and enjoyed hanging out with everyone but so glad I did not pay to see it. I literally laughed at the movie twice, that's it. It was just sad. By far the worst movie I have seen in a LONG time

You Can Thank Me Later

Like a train wreck, so horrible yet you can't look away. Just about a family with a lot of issues and the story involves a lot of sex and painful situations. Everything to do with the mother is just utterly annoying

Watched it years ago and didn't remember any of it so when it came on TV I decided to watch it. It was okay. Don't need to see it again though. Nothing stood out about it making it great or anything.

Slumdog Millionaire

Excellent! Did not know much about it going into it so did not expect it to be so intense, but it was great! And the music in it is amazing as well.

Charlie Bartlett

Better than I thought it woulr be. Hard to really place where this movie belongs in terms of demograph or genre really. I can't help but think the main character has the same voice as Matthew Broderick though lol But I think this would be a good movie to watch in High School cause it dealt with all kinds of stereotypes of teenagers

bought it because Kirby Morrow and Scott McNeil are in it. Thought it was a live action movie though. It was still pretty good, but not great. And the ending comes up short in the way of quality.

Bride Wars
Bride Wars(2009)

Glad I got to hang out with my friend when we saw this, but it is not my kind of movie. Is exactly what it seems from the trailer. I did not find it funny, just mad me angry or annoyed at the situations. Just reminded me of why I don't hang out with many girls -_-

cute. the anation

Gran Torino
Gran Torino(2009)

Well done. A lot more humourous lines than I was expecting too. Wasn't sure about this when I saw the trailer but it ended up being a great movie. Very glad I saw it

Very well done and an awesome cast. Even though you know they fail, you still find your self rooting for them. I am really glad I went to see this.

I'm Still Here

I hate to say it but I watched this movie because Elijah Wood and Ryan Gosling were a part of it and I never thought I would see them featured on the same film. This was a very well done project. I was surprised to find out that MTV created it and was a bit impressed. Very sad, very well done and is about something that people should know about.

Silent Hill
Silent Hill(2006)

One of the very rare horror movies I have watched. But I had to because of some of it being filmed in Brantford Ontario! Wasn't as bad as I was expecting but definately not my kind of movie at all.

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button

Great idea, but far too long. Some points seemed like they were going by really quick but overall the movie felt like it was crawling along. Though I am impressed with how they did him as an old man.

I have seen it twice now. Nothing beats seeing it opening day in theaters because everyone was excited and reacted the same to moments in the film. It was more enjoyable when everyone would laugh and react because then it was more comfortable to do so as well. So many pretty people in this movie too. And all the characters and scenes were so true to the book.

The Village
The Village(2004)

Put off watching it because I thought it was a scary movie, which I don't mix well with. But it turns out it wasn't scary. I guess everything in M. Night Shyamalan's movie just has to have some sort of twist.

Zack and Miri Make a Porno

Surprised how much I enjoyed this movie. Though I saw more in it than I was expecting or wanted to -_-;; But it definately had it's funny moments. Worth seeing

Journey to the Center of the Earth

omg red and blue 3D glasses hurt. I wish I saw this in theaters because 80% of the time the glasses did not work at home it just created a double picture and got rid of all other colours. Looked a thousand times worse than when I don't wear regular glasses -_-;;

Though in theaters this movie would have been fun and they should make more

Tinker Bell
Tinker Bell(2008)

Not too thrilled about them making her speak when she doesn't in the original movie, even if it is Katara from Avatar. The animation is decent and probably would have liked it as a kid. The fact she said "flitterific" made me want to scream. Movie is pretty bad but not as horrible as the sequels Disney puts out, but that is not saying much

You, Me and Dupree

Had it on at work at cinema 1. Not my kind of movie. Wasn't as terrible as I expected but not great either. Was not really funny at all

The Painted Veil

I keep picking movies lately that end up making me sad but I was in the mood for an Edward Norton film. It was much better than I expected, because I had not heard much about it. It was very well done to show the relationship between the two characters and their emotions.

Very well filmed. I really liked it. What a great movie to have as his first directed

The Abyss
The Abyss(1989)

Just watched the special edition and loved it. Really like the general feel of the movie and the obvious message

Amazing acting! Could not get over it! Philip Seymour Hoffman did an impressive job. Overall the movie was slow to me but I could not get enough of him playing the part

I enjoyed it. I really liked the music and it had a decent story. Wasn't amazing film making but when they won an award at the academy awards they looked more happy about it than most winners and that makes me happier that it did so well

Al Pacino is always very impressive. Glad I finally saw this movie

Schindler's List

Very well done. So sad but I am extremely glad I watched it.

Burn After Reading

I really really enjoyed this movie. I thought it was great! Great script, idea and acting. It had some hilarious moments. So glad I saw it.

Death Note (Desu n˘to) (TV SHOW)

Own the japanese version and just saw the dubbed in theaters. I love it!! And it is great cause my friends that have no prior knowledge of Death Note can watch it too.

The Happening

I get the message in this. I know people found the concept corny but I like the change from monsters, zombies and serial killers being the cause. Or government experiments. I do not watch a lot of horror or thriller so definately not my favourite movie, and had some cheesy moments. Was not expecting so much gore, did not know much going into it.

Righteous Kill

I went expecting just to see some awesome acting and it did not disappoint. Not the best movie ever overall but I got out of it what I wanted and thoroughly enjoyed it.

Mamma Mia!
Mamma Mia!(2008)

Very girly but fun movie. Do not think it is as great as the hype is giving it credit for but glad I saw it. Some people have seen it 14 times in theaters but once is enough for me

I almost was not going to see this because I was so sick of the over marketing of it. But it turned out to be excellent! Amazing animation and great emotional character development by not having any talking. Had a lot of good messages in it.

Hellboy II: The Golden Army (Hellboy 2)

Love the way they used a lot of amazing make up and costumes instead of CGing absolutely everything. I just love the art direction in this movie. Change of a character's voice threw mein the beginning but they did a good job. A shame this movie had to go up against Dark Knight though, did not stand a chance.

Batman Gotham Knight

Thoroughly enjoyed it. I love films like this. And absolutely love the different animation styles.

Man of the Year

Was shocked to see my school used in a few scenes (aka CBC Building in Toronto) and overall enjoyed the film more than I expected to. Wish I had watched it when it came out, when I was still going to that school. Yet kind of fun to see now that the election is actually happening. Love the scenes of Robin Williams doing more of his stand up style

Star Wars: The Clone Wars

Went dressed as Ahsoka for the opening day of this movie. It was ok. Don't need to see it again in theaters like I usually do with Star Wars movies though. Jabba's uncle made me laugh my head off. What were they thinking????

Saw it because of James McAvoy and absolutely love it! I have watched it so many times now.

Wayne's World 2

Just saw that for the first time last weekend. I really enjoyed it! Wish I could have seen it as a kid

Donnie Darko
Donnie Darko(2001)

Absolutely love it! Can't believe it took me so long to watch it

Pineapple Express

It was ok. It had it's moments of good lines. Glad I saw it

The Dark Knight

Saw it as a work screening and then again the next day opening weekend and it just blew my mind!! It was so perfect!! Want to see it again. It was so well put together!! So dark, and just great character development. The acting and music especially impressed me.

Joker is so incredibley done. Have not been this impressed with acting in a long time. So worth the hype! When the trailer first came out last winter I anticipated a great performance and it exceeded my expectations!!

American History X

Oh my god. I just feel speechless after this film. Took me forever to see, but I am kind of glad because I can appreciate it more now then when I first heard about it. Amazing movie

Had to see it because of James McAvoy ^-^ And I loved it!

The Ninth Gate

Bizarre film but well done. Like all the little details and connestions in it.

25th Hour
25th Hour(2003)

Absolutely loved this film. I love how they edited it together and was impressed by Edward Norton's performance, as usual.

The Love Guru

Came out on my brithday so saw it with some friends as part of my birthday party. My brother tried out for the role as Myers as a kid too so I had to see it. Hd a good laugh and was definately the perfect movie to see with a group of friends. And seeing Justin Timberlake sing Celine Dion and swear in French was very amusing, at least for me

You Don't Mess With the Zohan

Fun movie to see with friends. Was not the funniest movie ever but I had a good laugh.

The Incredible Hulk

I loved it!!! Edward Norton was awesome in it!! I saw it for him and because I saw them filming some of it on Yonge st in Toronto for the big fight scene and founf that extremely entertaining to see! Great cast in this film

Grosse Pointe Blank

Finally watched it and loved the dialogue and the concept! Worth the hype I heard it getting.

Southland Tales

I usually can't stand anything to do with Justin Timberlake but he actually kind of impressed me in this movie. I liked this movie because it was like making fun of itself but also had some clever parts to it. A nice mix.

P.S. I Love You

I have never cried so many times in one movie. I had no interest in seeing this while in theaters but now that it is out on video my best friend talked me into watching and I am actually glad she did. This movie reached out to me, I usually hate chick flicks but this one has made an impression on me for many reasons.

The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian

Loved it! I am obsessed with fantasy films. Have to read it still but could definately tell C S Lewis and J R R Tolkien were friends with a lot of aspects. Which is why I had to laugh when Weta and Richard Taylor's name came up in the credits. Would explain why I digustingly say a dwarf holding a version of Sting :P

Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade

Much better than the second one. Really enjoyed. Though as most sequels, still does not live up to the standards of the first one.

Addams Family Values

It was amusing seeing David Krumholtz as a kid. Was not nearly as good as the first but was ok

Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle

only watched it because David Krumholtz is in it. Not my kind of movie. Was stupid and not very funny but could have been worse

Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom

Definately not as good as the first. Liked Shorty but that girl was extremely annoying!! Complete 180 from the first woman do not know how he could stand her let alone fall for her

omg I have never heard so many corny lines in 1 1/2 hours before!! lol typical arnold.

not my kind of movie. would definately not want to watch it again. Had to at least once since it is such a big movie and referenced so much.

Raiders of the Lost Ark

It's Indiana Jones!! What more is there to say?

The Addams Family

I personally loved it. Genre is right up my alley. Absolutely loved Christina Ricci as Wednesday and cousin it was so amusing. Really liked it. Cannot believe how long it took me to finally see this!

Just Friends
Just Friends(2005)

It was on TV so I watched. Really stupid and complete waste of time. Scary thing is, I've seen worse, somehow

Four Rooms
Four Rooms(1996)

Always love the works of Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino! They both have great style and ideas! Tim Roth was so animated in this he was great

Fell prey to enjoying eye candy in a film, Jim Sturgess and Aaron Yoo - wow. Generally really liked the whole film. Kevin Spacey is always great. Overall thought it was a good film.

The Forbidden Kingdom

I personally really enjoyed it. Had no idea there was any american guy or english in it at all going into it. Loved the characters and the costume designs. Movie had me written all over it.

Miss Potter
Miss Potter(2007)

Loved these books as a kid and loved this movie. Very sweet yet sad. Always love Ewan McGregor. Overall really enjoyed this film and now want to buy it

Not my kind of movie, but know a few people that reference it so watched it on TV. It got better half way through, but still not my kind of movie.

The Fifth Element

Blue woman was such a cool design. Chris Tucker was just too much. But overall really liked it. Some interesting editing in there too

Apocalypse Now

Great film making. Just an excellent movie all the way around. And I usually HATE war films but this was so well done.

WTF Avril Lavigne after a fantasy movie? Like not having an ending wasn't disappointing enough.

Generally I liked the actors, effects and overall story but it wasn't great. I usually get quite obsessed with fantasy movies but definately not with this one.

She's the Man

Could have been worse. Needed something on while doing ironing and it happened to be on TV :p One of those pop culture favourites I avoided so thought why not. Not as painful to watch as I expected but still nothing great

Hard to Hold
Hard to Hold(1984)

omg had fun bashing this with my family. Mom got it for Easter cause she liked Rick Springfield growing up. It was so bad it was funny!

Had thought it would end at the tunnel. Wish it had not kept going

Personally I loved it! Amazing effects and loved seeing all the places they went to. Was pleased to find more character development in it than I thought an action flic like this would have. And absolutely loved Hayden Christensen in it!!!

In the Valley of Elah

Very sad. Scary the truth of the film. Tommy Lee Jones is great in it too.

The Diving Bell and the Butterfly

Loved it! The cinematography was excellent in it too! Really enojyed it

Into the Wild

Great! I loved everything about it. Emile Hirsch proves he has talent and not just a pretty face too. Loved the story and the character! Want to read the book to learn of the real person now. I really recommend this movie to everyone.

La Vie en Rose (La Mome)

wow Marion Cotillard was amazing in this. There is one scene in particular I absolutely love that is amazing acting on her part and is a wonderful long shot, do not want to give anything away. Great film

I Met the Walrus

Absolutely love the drawing animation in this!

Surf's Up
Surf's Up(2007)

Very surprised by it. Thought I would hate it but actually found it very entertaining and loved the documentary feel of it. They put a lot of thought into this one

Madame Tutli-Putli

Very different and creepy. Great animation!

Had to see it since it is a huge pop culture reference. Not too big on it though

love it! And really enjoy the commentary by Robert Rodriguez. Love all his tips, tricks and direction. The fact he does as many jobs as he can including storyboarding and camera work amazes me. His passion for film making is really inspiring. Love how he uses all his different contacts too and the fact he met Quintin Tarintino at Toronto Film Festival and wrote a character based on him. Then Tarintino ended up playing him too which is great. *bows to Rodriguez editing skills as well*

Sick to my stomach. I love the concept and the effects and monster were really cool, I thought, but my god did it make me sick!! Because of the camera I was nauseous 20 minuutes into it and had to stare at my lap for 75% of the rest of the movie and follow it by the sound. Really love the idea of it though so I am very torn on how to rate it since it physically made me ill lol

Hope Springs
Hope Springs(2003)

it was ok. Like Colin Firth but this movie is nothing special

El Mariachi
El Mariachi(1993)

I cannot believe he made this with the budget that he did. His mind and creativity amaze me! I love his work! Really liked the main guy in it too. But the shots and editing in it were great!

Sukiyaki Western Django

Loved it!! Quintin Tarintino calling himself am Otaku made me laugh and clap along with many others in the theater. Very glad I saw it at the Toronto Film Festival. And a lot of hot actors in it too ^-^ But seriously, loved it and cannot wait to see it again.

The Holiday
The Holiday(2006)

Loved it! Really cute and well put together. Loved how a lot of characters worked behind the scenes of movies. Really loved that fact actually. Especially Cameron Diaz being an editor relating her life into trailer format. Loved Jude Law for too many reasons, and always like Kate Winslet. Pleasently surprised with Jack Black though. Really enjoyed this film.

27 Dresses
27 Dresses(2008)

Cute and fun movie. Definately enjoyable chick flick. Love James Marsden in it too ^-^ Always up for staring at him lol

Jesus Camp
Jesus Camp(2006)

scary. just really scary. so true

How to Deal
How to Deal(2003)

my friend adam was in a scene of this so i bought it. typical teen girl movie

The Bucket List

expected a comedy and got more of a depressing drama but jack nicholson and morgan freeman were excellent in it. always love them

Evan Almighty

not as bad as i expected. not hilrious but still an enjoyable family movie

The Nanny Diaries

boring and overrated. Hugely disappointed in Paul Giamatti for being in this piece of crap

Excellent! I loved it. Great cast and it was very interesting the way they showed the different perspectives on the same event. Amazing long shot in it too when Robbie is in France. Great score as well. On a less serious note, I thought James McAvoy was hot in Last King od Scotland and still is but does he ever look older now!

Greatly surprised with this movie. The trailer does not show just how funny this film is. The dialogue for the main character is witty and I love her. Overall extremely enjoyed this movie. Go see it!

I Am Legend
I Am Legend(2007)

not that great. Not sure what the hype was about. Wasn't anything new. The shots of the city were good and Will Smith did a pretty good job but the idea was not anything new and the effects looked like something out of Pixar by the end of it.

Angela's Ashes

Had the wrong idea of this film growing up. It was amazing! The storyline was excellent and the characters were well done. Overall impressed with this movie

lol as a girl who grew up completely obsessed with Disney films, the classic princess ones especially, I loved it! And watching James Marsden run around in that outfit singing had me killing myself laughing. Really enjoyed it. Not sure about Timothy Spall being in it. Took me some time to adjust since he has been popping up as too recognizable characters (ie Wormtail). Would not recommend this to anyone who was not into Disney growing up because then they would not get the jokes and would just find it corny and stupid.

A little late seeing it. Would have been too much for me as a kid considering how sheltered I was lol

Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street

I don't care what anyone says I love this movie so much!!! Enjoyed listening to Johnny Depp sing. Love the main slow theme. The style of the whole movie was great. Tim Burton completely and I loved every second of it!

Catch and Release

extremely random watch on TV when I was at my grandparents. Had had no interest in seeing it. Yet I was pleasently surprised. I actually enjoyed it a bit. It wasn't great but not as bad as I pictured.

Perfume: The Story of a Murderer

Strange ending but well done film. Great cast too. A lot of biblical references in it's ending

Eastern Promises

Viggo Mortensen was great in it. Overall I liked the film. Wish I had seen it at the Toronto Film Festival. The father character was also well developed because your perspective of him changed by the end of the movie but it was done so gradually that it worked.

The Mist
The Mist(2007)

Went under the impression they don't show creatures. And my god do they! Usually hate horror movies with a passion but I actually liked this one. Yes it had gore, but great character development. Really liked it.

No Country for Old Men

the "bad guy" in it was excellent. It was also one of the endings that made me go "what the?" yet the movie was satisfying. I thought it was really good.

The Golden Compass

Really enjoyed it. Graphics were amazing in it! Wasn't prepared for it to be left for a sequel though even though I chould have seen it coming with this kind of movie. Please that I recognized Ian McKellen's voice. Had no idea he and Christopher Lee were in it until I saw it.

Liked Hayden Christensen in it.

Scary Movie
Scary Movie(2000)

It was not funny at all. Just disgusting and horrible

The Day After Tomorrow

I liked it though the wolves were a bit of a stretch

not my kind of movie at all

Lars and the Real Girl

Saw it at it's world premiere at the Toronto Film Festival as a volunteer and loved it! Clever script and Ryan Gosling was as amazing as ever. And I almost died being in the same room as him for almost 3 hours. It was a dream come true! Have seen the movie 3 times in theaters now and it is still entertaining and clever

Porco Rosso (Kurenai no buta)

had to see it. Miyasaki film with Cary Elwes in it. Felt the ending was lacking but other then that I enjoyed the animation

cute. Liked some of the set designs. and Robin Williams behind the scenes was definately amusing

The Terminator

just as good as expected from it being such a huge classic. Love the concept of the story

Spider-Man 3
Spider-Man 3(2007)

Amazing graphics. Heard nothing but bad things about it so was not expecting much but I actually liked it, other than Peter's "cool" segment and Kirsten Dunst. Not a huge spider-man fan to begin with though. Loved Topher Grace in it too

I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry

Wasn't as bad as I expected after the first half. But still not that great

Amazing graphics and loved the story. Could not tell that Angelina Jolie's face was CGed half the time. Seems she is easier to CG. Loved the story.

Mulholland Drive

weird, as to be expected from David Lynch, but very interesting. Glad I watched it again once I got more into film

Blood Diamond

really intense but well done. Leonardo Dicaprio never ceases to impress me. Especially this year, saw a lot of his movies where he was really good

Dazed and Confused

can't believe I didn't see it till this year. Would have liked it even more 4 years ago

Weird stuff in that movie. Glad my teenage life wasn't like that lol

From Dusk Till Dawn

love Quentin Tarantino. Wasn't expecting that out of George Clooney either.

The Bourne Supremacy

Just wish the camera didn't shake around for every scene, even dialogue scenes, because it was starting to actually make me motion sick.

Chicken Run
Chicken Run(2000)

These guys always do such great claymation

Requiem for a Dream

The movie is so good overall! Dark but so good! The music is one of the best soundtracks I have ever heard! The acting is great (what happened to Marlon Wayans? he went downhill after) the different camera shots and edit styles were so good

The Hot Chick

Can't believe that's Rachel McAdams now that I know who she is lol Got to see her at the Toronto Film Festival! ^_^ Got to gaurd her seat lol

The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy

didn't read the book so didn't really get into it

I usally don't like gangster movies but I really liked this one. It focused more on the characters and was directed really well

Jackass - The Movie

why do we give these morons money???

Another movie I was obsessed with as a kid. Loved the dad and thought Devon Sawa was cute ^_^ Also still love the theme music. Would still watch it now

Lara Croft - Tomb Raider

saw this for my birthday party that year. That was the only good thing about it. Angelina Jolie looks like the character but that is as far as it goes

Napoleon Dynamite

Sorry but I don't get why this was so huge

The Beach
The Beach(2000)

Heard it did badly so wasn't expecting much but I thought it was actually really good.

Love the style and symbolism in the film. Definately a nice change from hollywood type stories. But not my favourite by this director

A Goofy Movie

remember liking it as a kid but wouldn't want to watch it now

Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back

Scooby Doo deleted scene was too much for me

Seven (Se7en)

wow some of it was too intense for me but still such a clever movie. This director has a great style. And leaving out Kevin Spacey's name till the end was brillant and worked perfectly! Best styled opening too.

Young Frankenstein

really funny. A lot of fun and see it if you haven't

The Phantom of the Opera

Loved the theatre production and seeing the movie with the same music brought back a nice feeling. I really enjoy rewatching this movie. It stayed very true to the stage version
