Sheldon Cadet's Movie Ratings - Rotten Tomatoes

Movie Ratings and Reviews

This movie will give you some chills, mostly because of the way it is filmed. The story is nothing ground breaking as it tends to lean towards the typical "you get bitten and you get infected" fare but the ending is downright creepy and the cast does make it feel real.

Remember the Titans

Caught this on cable again the other day and decided to give it another watch. Absolutely great movie.

An Officer and a Gentleman

Bridget had never seen this so I watched it again with her. Still love this movie after all these years.

Underworld: The Rise of the Lycans

I really don't think that this prequel was really necessary although it got better as it went along.

What a load of absolute crap. Surprised I actually finished it.

Raging Bull
Raging Bull(1980)

De Niro is excellent in his portrayal of Jake La Motta and Scorsese was overlooked for the Best Director Oscar which went to Robert Redford.

Transformers: Dark of the Moon

This was painstaking at best to watch. After struggling through the shit that was part 2 and then 3....definitely giving Part 4 a skip

The Fighter
The Fighter(2010)

As good as Christian Bale and Amy Adams are, Melissa Leo steals this show.

Rodriguez at his cheesiest best

Battle: Los Angeles

Aliens are going to take over the world blah blah blah

True Grit
True Grit(2010)

This is a great movie I guess I just hyped myself up a little too much about it before I saw it.

Robin Hood
Robin Hood(2010)

I thought this was going to be bad but it was suprisingly good. The scenes with the Merry Men are by far the best in the movie which gives a look into Robin's earlier days.

Kung Fu Panda 2

Without seeing part 1 I thoroughly enjoyed this (with the help of my daughter of course)

The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader

Some good moments to be had in the third in the Narnia series but not the best of the lot so far.

The Social Network

Great movie about the rise of Mark Zuckerberg with some stand out performances by all.

While not directed by him it's still another misstep for Shyamalan. He has managed to put out yet another predictable by the numbers thriller.

127 Hours
127 Hours(2010)

James Franco gives an Oscar nominated worthy performance in this true story. If you have a weak stomach you may want to turn away coming to the end. Great score....great movie.

The Expendables

Exactly what you would expect from a cast consisting of Stallone, Austin, Lundgren etc... a lot of bad acting and no story.

I think I may have to watch the Directors Cut of this because there were some story lines that just felt out of place. It still boils down to Jolie trying to be Jason Bourne. It's also VERY predictable.

Took my daughter to see this although I'm not too much of a fan of animated movies. Pretty funny for both kids and adults.

I put this movie on as a way to kill some time and fall asleep in front of...that didn't happen. Entertaining with some solid moments although you can tell the true events that it was inspired from was stretched to the fullest.

Iron Man 2
Iron Man 2(2010)

In some ways not as good as part one but still highly entertaining. Has the set up for the Avengers movie which I can't wait for.

Pretty good movie although not as funny as I thought it would be.

Batman Begins

Watched this again over the weekend. Nolan is definitely one of the best Directors around.

Observe and Report

I didn't laugh once in this "comedy". Really disappointing.

Animal Farm
Animal Farm(1954)

I watched this again for the first time since I was kid. Not recommended for kids as the story will depress them and go over their heads.

The 2hrs 14 mins time on this is mis leading...sitting through this it felt like 4 hours of my life had passed. Good movie but it dragged..a lot.

Definitely not for everyone but nevertheless it's a funny look at religion.

Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels

Guy Ritchies debut is a cracker of a movie. Not to be missed.

This was Guy Ritchies' return to his Lock Stock and Snatch days. Great movie and I hope they do the sequel now that he has success with Sherlock Holmes.

History of the World---Part I

Cult classic that lulls at times but when it's funny it's a stand out.

While this has a solid cast you can see why it went straight to DVD.

Chaos Theory
Chaos Theory(2008)

I wasn't aware what this was about when I sat down to look at it. It took about 25 minutes for me to realize it wasn't my cup of tea which isn't saying it wasn't a good movie. Just not my taste.

Cop Out
Cop Out(2010)

Kevin Smith has always been able to make dumb funny but this time not even he can pull it off. Absolutely stupid and pointless. It hurts too see how he has come from Clerks and Chasing Amy to this.

The A-Team
The A-Team(2010)

This threw me off at first at how true to the tv series it was going to be but then it kicked in. Very good remake of another 80's classic.

The Karate Kid

Solid remake of the 80's classic. In my opinion much better storyline.

Grown Ups
Grown Ups(2010)

Another one of those better than I thought it would be movies. The funniest bits though are hen the actors blatantly ad lib their lines.

Toy Story 3
Toy Story 3(2010)

This one is definitely for the kids but DO NOT waste your money to see this in 3D

Youth in Revolt

I'll watch just about anything with Cera in it because the kid is just flat out funny. This takes a while to get going but gives you some good laughs all the way through.

She's Out of My League

Very predictable but if you got time to fill it has some good laughs to get you through and hour and three quarters.

The Losers
The Losers(2010)

Had some funny moments to go along with the action. Pity the plot is pretty basic.

Alice in Wonderland

Take Hollywoods' 3 top eccentrics (Burton, Depp and Glover) and put them in Wonderland and you get a hellova ride.

Hot Tub Time Machine

You basically get what you ask for with a movie named "Hot Tub Time Machine".

Edge of Darkness

From watching previews for this I thought that it was going to be a simple "cops daughter gets murdered and he takes revenge" kinda movie but this was actually an alright political/big business thriller. Gets a bit slow at times but you just have to love Ray Winstone.

Date Night
Date Night(2010)

Carell and Fey, both very funny actors, deserve much better than this cliche crap.

Pleasant surprise of a movie which features the BADDEST 11 year old EVER possibly in movie history. Funny and violent and just damn good.

This has always been considered one of the original teen sex comedies but beside the raunchy humor there is also some serious issues that it looks at. Still funny after all these years.

In the Line of Fire

Eastwood classic with John Malkovich as one of the most terrifying villains ever.

The Road
The Road(2009)

A bit slow sometimes but overall a great movie.

Shutter Island

There really isn't words to describe this film...just have patience and watch a whole different side to Scorsese.

The Slammin' Salmon

I had no intentions of watching this until I saw it was a Broken Lizard comedy. That being said it isn't as funny as their previous movies but still good for a few laughs.

God is pissed off so sends his legion down to kill everyone especially, for some reason, an unborn baby. Has the usual set up for a sequel.

From Paris with Love

This movie is a mess...that's all I can say about it. I'm surprised this came from the same director as Taken. It's just an excuse to blow things up and shoot guns.

The Invention of Lying

There are a lot of funny actors in this doing cameos which lead to a bunch of short funny moments but overall this could have been much better than it actually was.

A Perfect Getaway

Good thriller that keeps you guessing all the way through. Definitely different from what I expeted.

The story line really is weak but visually an outstanding piece of work. This is going to take every technical Oscar it's nominated for but don't expect it to win any other awards.

Couples Retreat

You would expect funnier from Vaughn and Favreau (who also co-wrote this) but you just don't get it.

The Hurt Locker

This will go down as one the better movies about war ever made. The movie, as well as director Bigelow, should both be shoe ins for Oscar nominations.

The Lovely Bones

Stanley Tucci and Saoirse Ronan are excellent in this which goes on for a bit too long but it's still a great movie with some trippy special effects.

River's Edge
River's Edge(1987)

Back in 86 when this film was released it was called "The most controversial film of the year:...well 24 years later that title can still stand up. A must see.

Law Abiding Citizen

A mans wife and daughter is killed, he gets revenge on the killer and gets jailed...AND THAT'S THE FIRST 29 MINUTES OF THE MOVIE. Utter nonsense.

Public Enemies

Johnny Depp is good, as usual, but some parts of this drags. Doesn't stick to the facts (Baby Face Nelsons death to name one) but still a pretty good look into John Dillinger and Herman Hollis.

Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel

Took the little one to see this over the weekend and she enjoyed it. I slept through a bit of it so that should tell you it's for kids only.

The Blind Side

Good uplifting movie about the true story of current Baltimore Ravens player Michael Oher. This is a must see even if you are not a sport fan. I also think Sandra Bullock has guaranteed an Oscar nomination for this performance.

Star Trek
Star Trek(2009)

I have NEVER been a fan of Star Trek, tv shows or the movies (although The Wrath of Kahn was kickass back in the day), this movie though kicks ass. JJ Abrams makes you enjoy this even though you may not be a fan of the franchise.

Inglourious Basterds

Not your usual Tarantino fare but he still delivers. Christoph Waltz is great in his supporting role.

David Lynch is known for his weirdness and this is sci fi weirdness at it's fineness (even though he didn't write this). For hardcore sci fi fans only...every one else stay clear.

The Jerk
The Jerk(1979)

Another movie I saw many years ago but didn't really remember it. Steve Martin is hilarious in this and it's still funny after all these years although some of the jokes are stretched too long.

Top Secret!
Top Secret!(1984)

I haven't looked at this in years. Definitely funnier now seeing that when I first saw it I was about 13. A comedy classic.

Jennifer's Body

This should be retitled The Exploitation of Megan Fox. If you want to drool over Fox then by all means...knock yourself out. Just don't expect a very good movie.

American Wedding

Finally finished re watching the trilogy. More of the same humor from the previous two but the bachelor party scene is classic.

It's an entertaining idea but the story is really poorly executed. One saving grace is that it doesn't try to stretch the story out.

Yet another movie that I have no idea why I took so long to watch it. Great movie but if you suffer from motion sickness ... beware.

Short movie that somehow seemed longer...not in a bad way though. Manages to be both funny and violent.

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince

Boring. Really glad this is coming to an end although they are going to stretch the final book into 2 movies

Let the Right One In

Finally got around to watching this (thanks Adam). Great movie...a bit slow sometimes but it will keep you watching.

Paranormal Activity

Cut from the same cloth as Blair Witch Project but way more boring. It has some chills coming down to the end if you can stay awake that long.

The Bank Job
The Bank Job(2008)

Great based on a true story movie. I'm not sure why the Trinidadian character has a Jamaican accent though.

The Goods: Live Hard, Sell Hard

Don't expect much of a story here. The movie is meant to be funny with no real storyline and it manages to pull it off...sometimes.

American Pie 2

Been watching the trilogy again. Just as funny as the first.

3:10 to Yuma
3:10 to Yuma(2007)

I don't know why it took me 2 years to watch this. Excellent western.

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen

Why do I put myself through the torture of watching crap like this??? Way too long and way to dumb.

The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3

I knew I wasn't going to enjoy this before watching it so I guess I have nothing to complain about.

The Ruins
The Ruins(2008)

I don't even know where to begin with this piece of I'll just leave you with a warning "SKIP IT"

Say Anything...

There must be something in this movie I didn't get seeing that everyone seems to love it but me.

Terminator Salvation

Rise of the Machines had already destroyed the Terminator franchise so it's no surprise how bad this is compared to the first two.

Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs

Took Caitlyn to see this over the weekend and while I didn't enjoy the entire movie, kids will enjoy it.

Street Kings
Street Kings(2008)

I found it hard for this movie to keep my interest all the way through. Worth watching for the cast but not for the story.

It's Alive
It's Alive(2008)

I saw the original for this over 20 years and don't remember it being this boring. Let's hope, unlike the original, that sequels are not made.

The Last House on the Left

Brutal remake of a Wes Craven film. At least nothing in this movie drags although there is a very disturbing and long rape scene.

Unfortunately for Cohen any character that he does is forever going to be compared to Borat. That is unfortunate because even though Bruno is funny it's nowhere as funny as Borat.

Full Metal Jacket

I love Vietnam movies I have always really preferred the first half of this movie than the actual combat part. Still a great movie not to be missed.

Blood In, Blood Out (Bound by Honor)

Some laughable acting in the first half but gets better as it goes along.

An American Werewolf in London

I guess you had to watch this back in the 80's to really enjoy it. I just thought it was so-so.

From Dusk Till Dawn

Whenever this is on cable I gotta look at least part of it again. Violent and great.

Young Guns
Young Guns(1988)

Good 80's cast hits the wild west in what we are supposed to believe is the story of Billy the Kid.

Great cast but a VERY uneven movie. This could have been so much better.

This is one of those movies where the action sequences and the comedic dialogue makes up for the absurd story line.

True Romance
True Romance(1993)

Took a break from watching 80's movies to look at this again. Ultra violent with great performances all around. The scene between Chris Walken and Dennis Hopper is classic.

The Breakfast Club

This still remains one of my favorite movies of all time. RIP John Hughes.

Fast Times At Ridgemont High

Haven't watched this in ages but it still rocks even just for Penn's iconic Spicolli character. Note worthy for yielding 4 future Oscar winners (Penn, Whitaker, Cage and writer Crowe).

The Outsiders

I still love this movie even with it's flaws. A casting coup back in the 80's.

Less Than Zero

Been feeling kinda 80's lately so kicked off a marathon with this depressing gem.

The Hangover
The Hangover(2009)

An instant comedy classic.

Gran Torino
Gran Torino(2009)

Eastwood delivers again, both as an actor and director. I loved how it ended and that it didn't go for the "Charlie Bronson" type antics.

I Love You, Man

Jon Favreau is flat out hilarious in this. Otherwise run of the mill fare. Rudd and Segal are normally funnier than this.

Underworld: Evolution

Looked at this again so I can FINALLY get around to part 3. Enjoyed it better the second time around.

Prison Break: The Final Break

It was an ok ending to a series that should have stopped a long time ago

This was NOTHING like I expected. I really thought this was going to be some cheesy comic book movie but instead I was blown away by what a great movie this was. Highly recommended.

Angels & Demons

I didn't think this was going to hold my attention but it managed to. Went on a bit too long.

Paradise Lost: Child Murders at Robin Hood Hills

Absolutely riveting documentary about the West Memphis Three who, in my view, got railroaded for the murder of 3 boys. A must see.

Punisher: War Zone

I expected a sequel to the previous Punisher movie (the one with Thomas Jane) but instead you can throw that movie out the window. Great movie for fans of action and violence.

Los Cronocrímenes (Timecrimes)

Flat out this is a mind fuck of a it.

I had never seen this and have been told by many how funny it is. It really isn't as funny as made out to be. Has some decent laugh out loud moments in it but not to sustain an entire movie.

Drag Me to Hell

Sam Raimi's return to horror has it's moments but for the most part it dragged for me. The last 10 minutes was also really unnecessary.

Night at the Museum 2: Battle of the Smithsonian

This is one of those sequels where they think bigger is better. Well in this case it's not. I wouldn't have given this any stars but Hank Azaria is funny as usual.

The Spirit
The Spirit(2008)

I expected a lot from this..I mean it's Frank Miller. This is the guy who wrote 300 and wrote and directed Sin City. What I got instead was a movie that it took me about 3 sittings to complete. Even if it was meant to be tongue in cheek I just found it to be bad.

Night at the Museum

Decided to give this a watch to see what all the hoopla is about part 2. There are a FEW funny bits but nothing to go rushing to see.

X-Men Origins - Wolverine

Good addition to the X Men franchise and does bring the story of the Wolverine and the X Men full circle. I did read the first X Men comic years ago but I can't remember if this is how it all started. I did find though that Ryan Reynolds was wasted in this.

Boiler Room
Boiler Room(2000)

I haven't watched this for awhile but it was on cable so I took a look again. Good movie with some good performances all around.

No matter how many times I watch this movie I still laugh my ass off. Leslie Neilsen is a freakin' riot.

Class of 1984

I haven't watched this in over 20 years and I still find it a good movie. You watch it now and may think of course that the plot is thin and what not but think about it back in 1982 before all of the school shootings that take place now a days.

What Just Happened?

When this was done I asked myself the same question..."What just happened to the past 2 hours of my life?"

I remember this being better the first 5 times I saw it :) I had planned to watch the trilogy but now I can't find my part 2. Still remains a kick ass film.

Eastwood brings out the best in Angelina Jolie in this fact based movie. The main story here could have been the Wineville Chicken Coop Murders but instead it shows how said murders helped bring down corrupt heads in the LAPD because of their botching a kidnapping. Excellent movie.

The Aviator
The Aviator(2004)

Martin Scorsese's look into the life if Howard Hughes hold's your interest for the entire 2 1/2 hours. One thing of note is that this mainly deals with the aviation aspects of Hughes life (as stated in the title) so some facts are left out (his marriage and car crash to name a couple). Cate Blanchett deservedly won the Best Supporting Actress Oscar for her portrayal of Katherine Hepburn.

Saw V
Saw V(2008)

The franchise that keeps going and going....This is like the other movies in that once again people are trapped and have to do various tasks in which to escape. It is interesting to see the new devices that are used to kill people and where the storyline will go next since a new Saw is churned out every year like clockwork.

Fast & Furious

Pretty much what one would expect. Diesels girlfriend is killed so to catch the killer he has to enter a race etc etc

Body of Lies
Body of Lies(2008)

DiCaprio is good but I thought that Russel Crowe was wasted in this.

Yes Man
Yes Man(2008)

When I first saw the preview for this I thought it was going to be a rehash of Liar, Liar. While it isn't exactly like that it does have it's similarities. It still does have some good laughs in it though.

The Big Lebowski it's 4:20 so why not watch The Dude. Classic cult comedy by the Coen Brothers. I first looked at this back in '98 and didn't really get it but watching it now, especially after having a greater appreciation for the Coens, it stands out.

The Day the Earth Stood Still

Aliens land on earth (one in the form of Keanu Reeves, of course) and says that if people of the earth do not live peacefully together we will all die. Uh huh. Keanu's job, as an alien, is to obviously show no emotion...something which someone of his acting ability has no problem doing.

Little Miss Sunshine

Funny movie with excellent performances all around. It also got a well deserved Oscar for Original Screenplay and Alan Arkin also won for Supporting Actor. Overall a great full length directing debut from Dayton/Farris who have made some on the most memorable music videos of our time.

Marley & Me
Marley & Me(2008)

Went on a bit too long for me but I actually kept watching which I didn't think I would.

Quantum of Solace

Finally got around to watching this, after viewing Casino Royale again. Not as good a plot as it's predecessor but still highly enjoyable action movie.

Capricorn One

Conspiracy thriller from the 70's with one of the most unintentional laugh out loud endings ever. Watch this just to make OJ jokes (which we all did) through out the movie.

The Departed
The Departed(2006)

Pulled this out of the collection and looked at it again. Scorsese won the Directing Oscar for this although it is not his best film. This of course tends to happen when a Director is overlooked as much as he has been and the Academy feels the need to finally pay him some respect. It's still an excellent movie that should not be missed.

Good kids movie with some funny bits for adults especially Greg Germann voicing the agent and Mark Walton as Rhino.

How to Lose Friends & Alienate People

I love just about anything Simon Pegg acts in but this lost my interest about half way in.

Low budget horror has it's share of scares as well as laughs (unintentionally). It's not original, and makes no sense at all, but if you have an hour and a bit to kill it's an ok time filler.

Bedtime Stories

I sat with my daughter to watch this and although she got up 10 minutes into it, for some reason I kept watching it. Some funny bits although this movie is obviously not geared towards adults but some kids may like it.

For a Few Dollars More (Per Qualche Dollaro in Più)

Eastwood reprises his role as The Man with No Name this time as a bounty hunter. Second of the Leone and Eastwood westerns keeps your attention from beginning until end.

A Fistful of Dollars (Per un Pugno di Dollari)

First movie staring Eastwood as "The Man with No Name". Classic spaghetti western has him pitting two rival families against each other. A Must see for fans of the western genre.

Blade Runner
Blade Runner(1982)

I found this DVD lying around the house the other day and decided to watch it again. It's a great movie, that Ridley Scott has milked over the years. The version I looked at was the Directors Cut and I also have the Final Cut which I'll also give a look at soon.

The Golden Compass

I thought this was going to be much better than it actually was, which is why I guess I have waited this long to watch it. At close to 2 hours I can't even say this is a good time filler. It was also made with obvious high box office expectations (which it did not fulfill) so a sequel is still up in the air and the way it ends another movie has to be seen.

When this was released I had no idea that it was based on a novel, much less a series. I checked on it and saw that it was about vampires and geared towards teens. That being said if I was a teenage girl this would have been the best movie since Titanic. I'm not so I rate it how I see it. I may give the sequel a chance because I am hoping that "I love you and want to be with you forever" and all the other mushiness is done with.

Righteous Kill

De Niro and Pacino are two of the best actors of their generation. Then they go and do this. For some reason Pacino seems to love doing movies with Jon Avent (the Director) but none of them have been practically any good. His last movie with him, 88 minutes, was a mess. This is better but that ain't saying much.

Wicked movie considering then Liam Neeson isn't the first name that you would normally think about to star in an action movie.

I first saw this over 20 years ago and have been waiting to see it again ever since. Loved it then and as far as spaghetti westerns go..I still love it today.

The Boondock Saints

Fraternal twins go about ridding Boston of criminals and are seen by some as saviors. Good story by first time writer/director Troy Duffy. Way over the top performance by Willem DaFoe is second only to anything that Nicholas Cage does.

Role Models
Role Models(2008)

Scott and Rudd get into trouble with the law and have to do community service and mentor 2 kids or go to jail. The usual happens (they screw up and make up for it) but has a few funny spots here and there. Very predictable though.

Extreme Movie

Terrible sketch comedy which is sad because it has some funny actors in it. The credits says it stars Michael Cera and Frankie Muniz but their screen time probably totals about 10 minutes. Funniest bits are definitely Jamie Kennedy's skit and anything with Matthew Lillard.

Very distracting casting with Americans and Englishmen playing Germans (with not even an attempt at German accents) but when the story kicks in it doesn't let up. Too bad it takes a while for the story to get going. Overall not as bad as I expected it to be after all of the reported delays.

Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist

Cera is, once again, the wide eyed in love teenager trying to get over a girl but this time falling for someone else. It has some funny moments, as well as a great soundtrack, but it's been done before.

The Wrestler
The Wrestler(2008)

Mickey Rourke gives a career comeback performance which earned him well deserved awards (BAFTA, Golden Globe and Independent Spirit to name a few). The wrestling scenes are well done and couple that also with the supporting job by Marisa Tomei and a good storyline, this is one to watch.

Slumdog Millionaire

Kid from the slums of Mumbai ends up a contestant on "Who wants to be a Millionaire" in the hopes that a girl he loves will see him. DEFINITELY as corny as it sounds. It's a visually stunning film with some excellent performances and shows how tough it is growing up in the slums of India.

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button

Brad Pitt deserves his Oscar nomination nod as a man who ages backwards. The real star of the show though is Greg Cannom who should collect his third Oscar in the makeup department.

Step Brothers

I would have given this zero stars if I could. One of the worst movies I have ever seen in my life, and I have seen my fair share of crap.

Stranger Than Fiction

While watching this I kept thinking of "Being John Malkovich" for some reason. Anyways....great movie and Will Ferrell is pretty good.

The Rocker
The Rocker(2008)

Rainn Wilson plays the same pompous ass he plays on tv but a LOT less funnier. Absolute crap.

Eagle Eye
Eagle Eye(2008)

Highly unbelievable with your typical Hollywood ending. Waste of time.

I Am Legend
I Am Legend(2007)

Finally got around to watching this and it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.

Lakeview Terrace

Not your typical Neil LaBute film plus we've all seen this premise about neighbor moving in and not welcome etc etc etc

Burn After Reading

Slow start but when it gets going it's quite funny. JK Simmons is flat out hilarious.

Pineapple Express

The return of the stoner comedy...albeit a violent at times comedy. Has it's moments.

Max Payne
Max Payne(2008)

Predictable mind numbingly awful movie. I can tell you what it's about but instead I'll just give a disclaimer.... DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME.

Zack and Miri Make a Porno

Two friends (Rogen and Banks) hard up for cash decide to make a porno to pay off their bills. Beside the typical Hollywood ending this is classic Smith. Jason Mewes (The Jay in Jay and Silent Bob) is, as usual, hilarious and offensive.

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull

After watching this I really hope that Lucas and Spielberg decide to hang up Indy's hat.

Tropic Thunder

Funny movie with stand outs by Tom Cruise and Robert Downey Jr. as "the dude playin' the dude, disguised as another dude!".

A View to a Kill

One of the weakest Bond movies ever made. The 'acting' is absolute crap to go along with a dumb ass story. Don't bother.

Exciting Bond movie (and the last good one Moore made). I am still not sure what Octopussy's role is in everything that happens..but that's Bond for you.

After watching the trailer for this I really had no intention of watching this. Bored one afternoon I did...and I still kinda wish I didn't. Totally ridiculous at points but if you have almost 2 hours to fill with mindless garbage..go for it.

Raiders of the Lost Ark

Got this out of the collection as I haven't watched it in a loooooong time and it still stands up to some of today's movies.

They Call Me Trinity (Lo chiamavano Trinità)

I first saw this about 25 years or so ago and it always stuck with me. Watched it again about 2 years ago and dug it out again recently. Great spaghetti western with Bud Spencer's dry comedic performance a classic.

Get Smart
Get Smart(2008)

Some funny bits but you would expect more from Steve Carell playing Maxwell Smart.

The Hills Have Eyes

For the first 70 minutes or so this is an identical remake to the original. It then gets bloodier and stretches out the movie for about 15 minutes more.

The Hills Have Eyes

70's Horror classic by Wes Craven about travelers who get stuck in the middle of nowhere only to be terrorized by savages living in the hills.

10,000 B.C.
10,000 B.C.(2008)

What you would expect from a Roland Emmerich movie....heavy on the special effects..light on story.

Yet another American remake to a Japanese horror movie. It has some ok chills in it and the ending is at less than 90 minutes it's a good time filler.

War (Rogue Assassin)

I'm not a huge Jet Li fan but I do like movies that Jason Statham appears in so I decided to give this a roll. I was actually pleasantly surprised. The plot twist did actually get me.

For Your Eyes Only

This is one of my favorite Bond movies. A HUGE improvement over the nonsense that was Moonraker.

Good start but then gets REALLY bad by going into space, giving Jaws a love interest and then turning one of the best Bond villains good. This was the movie that turned Bond into a cartoon character.

The Strangers

The movie is APPARENTLY "inspired by true events" ... uh huh . Anyways...some good thrills here and there and the ending is just plain ass stupid.

The Spy Who Loved Me

Definitely one of the better Bonds with one of the more memorable villains, Jaws.

The Princess Bride

Funny movie with some great performances. Mandy Patinkin is outstanding.

Day of the Dead

Another typical "Dead" movie but not as entertaining as some of the others.

Into the Wild

Excellent movie by one of my favorite actors/directors, Sean Penn. Emile Hirsch is excellent in this true story about a college graduate who leaves it all behind to live in Alaska.

Cheech and Chong's Next Movie

Terrible follow up to the classic Up in Smoke. Story is scattered and really goes nowhere although it does have a FEW funny moments.

Run Fatboy Run

Simon Pegg is funny in just about any thing he does and Schwimmer does a pretty good job directing.

Up in Smoke
Up in Smoke(1978)

Classic stoner comedy about 2 guys pursued by police in a van made of marijuana. Funny as hell!!!

Vantage Point

I really went into watching this movie expecting it to be better than it was. For a movie that is some 90 mins or so it seemed to drag at some points and make it seem longer. Watch it for the car chase though.

Rambo (Rambo IV)

I thought this was going to be terrible but it actually wasn't. Pretty good (although the violence was overdone).

Jason Statham deserves better than this even though there are a few funny moments. Amazingly (or not knowing Hollywood) there is a sequel in the the ending and you will understand why I say "amazingly".

Eastern Promises

Back to back great movies from Cronenberg and Mortensen (A History of Violence being the other). Great performances by everyone but Viggo Mortensen is a stand out.

Prom Night
Prom Night(2008)

Very by the numbers, bloodless (hence the PG-13 rating) and dumb movie...but then again if anyone went into watching this movie expecting some great acting and surprises then you should stop watching movies.

Hellboy II: The Golden Army (Hellboy 2)

Guillermo del Toro is probably the most visionary director there is today. The special effects in this movie are great but the story does get a bit tedious as it goes on.

Alpha Dog
Alpha Dog(2007)

True story about a bunch of young wanna be gangsters who kidnap a teen. The only thing more disturbing than the teens behavior is the parents.

Harold & Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay

Not even close to being as funny as the original but does come close when Neil Patrick Harris shows up. I say make a movie about Neil the way he's portrayed in the movie.

The Dark Knight

Believe the buzz surrounding the performance from Heath's superb. The rest of the cast also shines as well as the director Chris Nolan. Great movie.

Movie loses it's way (and sense of humor) along the way but as it's only an hour and a half it's an ok time filler.

The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian

In my opinion a better movie than the first (The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe). Has some good action scenes and laughs as well but beware kids...lots of violence for a Disney flick.

I don't see what all the hoopla was about this movie (#1 opening with $24mil, 4 stars on FB). It's a buy the numbers telling of an MIT student who counts cards and goes to Vegas and...well what do you think happens.

The Happening

Let me say I'm a fan of M. Night Shyamalan. I don't quite know why...but I am. Unbreakable, to me, was his finest work. This is not. This movie has some of THE WORST acting I have ever seen and is just comical. Stay away.

This is the 3rd in his 'American Working Man' series (Anchorman and Talladega Nights being the other two) and by far the weakest. The jokes are scattered and most are not even that funny.

Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith

walked out 1/4 way thru..but the cinema bar was also closed

Meet the Fockers

got funnier on repeated viewings

you gotta love"aDRIAN"

3 hours of my life never getting back
