Credit goes less to the Fugitive-meets-My Favorite Martian scenario than to Corbett's low-key charm.

The hour holds one's attention, and Corbett brings to his role just the right degree of cheering eeriness.

The Visitor is an encyclopedia of every paranoid and paranormal film and television series of the last five years. Once more, a hodgepodge has been turned into a show so fast and frantic that it sustains interest even when it makes no sense.

Dean Devlin and Roland Emmerich, creators of Independence Day, are behind this series which is, despite the extravagant plot, quite predictable.

The Visitor is visually spectacular and the abbreviated pilot had a great soundtrack. Corbett... infuses the pilot with blank mystery.

Chris Corbett is the alien in this cross between "Phenomenon" and "The Fugitive." Considerable promise.
