Critic Reviews for Supernatural: Season 2

All Critics (7) | Top Critics (1)

The previous year had been mainly rip-offs of other stories done better elsewhere, but now Supernatural was confident enough to put its own spin on things and come up with original ideas that were unique and interesting.

Admittedly, the show is cheesy. Gloriously cheesy. For me, personally, while it started out as something of a guilty pleasure, it's moved up to become a legitimate television watching experience.

June 11, 2018 | Full Review…

This show is so sick and wrong. And I love it.

September 16, 2013 | Full Review…

Supernatural is a really good entry into genre television, with Season 2 providing a lot of the groundwork that allows the series to earn such a label.

September 10, 2013 | Rating: 7/10 | Full Review…

The opening episode for Season 2 of Supernatural, "In My Time of Dying", remains one of the show's high points, even three seasons later.

May 28, 2009 | Rating: 9.3/10 | Full Review…

The initial story units - Dean dealing with guilt and death of John and establishing the Roadhouse - work well, and I'm eager to see how the show develops these concepts and also introduces new ones.

Audience Reviews for Supernatural: Season 2

Super Reviewer

After an impressive first season Supernatural ups its game, progressing from a mainly episodic series to one with threads of continuity and an increasingly serial storyline. Season 2 broadens the world of demon hunting by introducing several recurring characters and building the mythology of the Winchesters and the Yellow-Eyed Demon. Throughout the season the Winchesters gather and forge allies, and prepare for the coming darkness; leading to a spectacular finale where the first skirmish of a looming war between the forces of good and evil is fought. Some notable guest stars this season include Alona Tal, Tricia Helfer, and Amber Benson; who all give strong performances. With its fresh approach to the horror genre Supernatural stands out as a leading series on the sci-fi/fantasy genre, and Season 2 proves that that the show can setup complex plots and deliver on them.
