Most impressively, Saints & Strangers allows the Native Americans to speak in their own languages, with subtitles. That alone makes the miniseries as realistic as any depiction of the Plymouth Colony seen on screen.

In Saints & Strangers, a two-part miniseries that reminds us the Pilgrims suffered far worse than Survivor contestants, does an admirable job of capturing the early settlers' hardships and complicated relationship with American Indians.
