Critic Consensus: Riverdale offers an amusingly self-aware reimagining of its classic source material that proves eerie, odd, daring, and above all addictive.

News & Interviews for Riverdale: Season 1
Riverdale, an enjoyable and moody teen series for adults who love teen series, a group of which I consider myself a member, is a fascinating splash in the ongoing remake deluge.
Riverdale can be overwrought at times and even too transparently politically correct at others. But it's also crisply entertaining and particularly well-cast with respect to the pivotal roles.
[It's] a lot of fun, but what I like most so far is that Betty's much more than a ponytail, Veronica's not nearly as spoiled as I remember, and together they're navigating friendship and romantic rivalry in what I'd like to think are 21st century ways.
Well done, but formulaic. Nevertheless, a long run seems assured.
There are so many interesting storylines in the first season. The plot keeps getting wilder and more bizarre throughout the season. People will be surprised once they see where it's all heading.
