Critic Consensus: With its clever concoction of suspense, violence, and romance, "Down" offers a titillating story that entertains on many levels.
Critic reviews for Down
The script here could generously be called inconsistent, more accurately a mess, and even more accurately kinda gross.
I do think Down wants to say more than it actually does, and once again - a theme throughout Into The Dark so far - skimps on holiday-themed scares.
The premise was so simple, and it works on many levels, from the basic what you see is what you get, to the deeper analogy about how women have to deal with terror even after a quick, casual hookup.
Director Daniel Stamm's episode is highly ambitious in its narrow scope, entertaining due to its central couple, and genuinely thrilling. It's a good hour and half of horror.
