It's beautiful, heartfelt, and has a lot of exactly what the whole of humanity needs to hear at this very second.

With echoes of Mikhail Bulgakov and Douglas Adams, Good Omens is a farce, a cheeky lark, as stylish as it is stylized, macabre and endlessly inventive.

The chemistry between Tennant and Sheen is remarkable and unmatched. Good Omens hooks you from the start and is more than worth the six hour binge.

One of the things that drives Good Omens and keeps it so damn lovable is how it surrenders itself to fantasy and the sheer joy of storytelling.

It. Is. Ma. Gi. Cal. No, it's not "magi, Cal." It's magical, with a capital Yes Please and Thank You.

Occasionally it verges on being too knowing and arch, but Tennant and Sheen redeem it, the message of their alliance being that even those with as polar-opposite views as an angel and a devil can work together.

It feels like it's been directed by 12 people, none of whom has ever directed anything before, featuring actors who have apparently never acted before.

Good Omens might seem like an almost too-simplistic guilty pleasure - a throwback to a less complicated era - but it's exactly the kind of story we need right now. It'll give you some faith in humanity again.

Stunning to see, bewitching to hear, and altogether entertaining, this is one heavenly series worth your time - flaws be damned.

There are so few perfect book-to-film adaptations, but Good Omens is definitely one of them.

Among its copious jokes, "Good Omens" has the wit and good taste to mock "The Sound of Music" on multiple occasions. For that alone it deserves an Emmy.

To say there is more than a little Hitchhikers Guide to Good Omens would be airing on the side of subtlety.

The result is a crowded tapestry, a Bosch painting's worth of incident and invention. It's weird and whimsical and idiosyncratic, and everything the book is loved for.

After being confronted with a slew of disappointing adaptations in my time, I can decidedly say that Good Omens is not one of them. Charming, witty, and devilishly fun, Good Omens is a series that, like the original novel, will delight and entertain.

It's fun, funny, and inventive, with a cast that is clearly in tune with the material and keen to do it justice. Fans won't be disappointed.

With [Neil] Gaiman at the helm, and with an ample amount of time to do the book's nuances justice, Good Omens succeeds much better than any recent Gaiman (or [Terry] Pratchett) adaptation in memory.

Good Omens is merely six episodes in length, a miniseries encapsulation that feels like a blessing from the Lord himself in this age of streaming mania.
May 31, 2019
If everything else feels decidedly extraneous, it's mostly worth it to see two such estimable actors having such a lovely doomsday.

Sensationally weird opening titles suggest we're in a TV universe previously unexplored, with a zany majesty, idiotic buffoonery and a powerful, judgmental presence overseeing things.

Keeping things light to the point of absurdity works in the series' favor, as what might otherwise come across as deficiencies in attention come across more like gleeful asides.
