Good Omens' greatest achievement isn't its hilarious story of the end of the world. It's the recognition that we're all not that different, in the end.

The show's script is fresh, original, and will keep most viewers entertained throughout. However some of the side-characters' backstories are less than impressive, and take away from pace and rhythm of the otherwise well-crafted show.

Much like existence, Good Omens is a messy, sometimes confusing experience whose highs make the whole enterprise worth it.

No screen version of the book was going to be perfect, or work for everyone, but this is probably the closest we were going to get. Praise be!

Gaiman creates a tight story in six nearly hour-long episodes. For a tale about the end of times, it's a surprisingly streamlined story, despite the different jumps in time.

This series is a fun and wild ride that you'll want to stay on until the very end.

With an engaging cast, a wonderful sense of style, and a story that feels both timeless and tailor-made to today, Good Omens crafts a very binge-worthy fantasy tale that audiences will likely fall in love with.

It's got enough satirical elements for it to develop its story in a very entertaining and deliciously unexpected way. [Full review in Spanish]

Their depiction has real power and impact, and Good Omens is a hugely important story of found families and love that isn't able to be pigeonholed.

The reliably quirky Gaiman has fashioned a script that crams all the delicious silliness of the book and their relationship...

Those things that made the (Neil Gaiman's) book so funny and fun are nearly thirty years old and have become so ubiquitous for some of us that Good Omens is no longer the absurd outlier, but the norm.

There is plenty of substance that aims to please a crowd and the series is flavored with comedic notes and rich character tones.

Good Omens clearly had the potential to be the next great fantasy show but it fails to put forward a strong narrative, favouring instead a series of oddly connected moments which do little for the overall theme and tone of the show.

David Tennant and Michael Sheen bounce off each other with an energy that makes for intoxicating viewing.

Jon Hamm, 48, soars as the angel Gabriel (a total jerk).

A concise and direct production, with very intelligent but very accessible humor. [Full Review in Spanish]

A consistently entertaining adaptation that's worth seeing for Sheen and Tennant's terrific comic double-act alone.

Good Omens is doing its best work precisely because it has a defined beginning, middle, and end, and zero plans or interest in extending to a Season 2, no matter how large a hit it might be.
June 6, 2019
It sounds brilliant, but good performances from Sheen and Tennant aside, Good Omens is a disjointed slog, with ugly special effects, useless peripheral characters, and no palpable sense of urgency.
June 5, 2019
Highly imaginative and will all no doubt be catnip for fans of the book, who will get to see an impressive cast bring a multitude of much-loved characters to life... Jolly good biscuit-dunking fun.
