Critic Consensus: "Out of Time" is arguably The Flash's most thrilling episode yet, slightly diminished by the understanding that all of its shocking twists and narrative gut-punches will be undone by time travel.

Critic reviews for Out of Time
It came back with a bang, and had us crying, screaming and gasping for a solid hour- not wanting to look away from the screen for even the slightest second.
The Flash returned with a bang - and an episode packing story twists, bombshells and special effects most at home in a season finale.
There's a reason why time travel is such a tricky matter. It's almost impossible to truly crack in a two-hour movie. But over a multi-season television show? Even Barry Allen can't run fast enough through all those logic holes.
Recaptured much of its early season magic, and boosted my hopes for the final stretch. If the writers can deliver whole episodes as exciting as the last half of "Out of Time," we'll all need the whole summer to simply catch our breath.
"Out of Time" is a watershed moment for the rookie CW series, in that it introduces the most valuable ability any superhero or TV show can possess: the power to obliterate expectations.
