Things get ugly when two firms manufacturing new makeup innovations are implicated in a murder in this episode of the television detective series Columbo. Viveca Scott (Vera Miles) is the founder and owner of Beauty Mark Cosmetics, a large and successful cosmetics firm. New competitors have been cutting into Beauty Mark's share of the marketplace, and Scott is eager to get her newest creation onto the market -- a cream that can eliminate wrinkles. However, a pirate version of Scott's anti-wrinkle formula beats Scott's product to the market, and shortly afterward, Karl Lessing (Martin Sheen), an assistant to Scott's top chemist, turns up dead. Lt. Columbo (Peter Falk) is assigned to investigate, and discovers there may be a link between the murder and David Lang (Vincent Price), one of Scott's leading competitors. Columbo: Lovely but Lethal first aired on September 23, 1973.
