Critic Consensus: Completely absurd and yet, utterly relatable, Close Enough captures the strange experience that is being an adult.

News & Interviews for Close Enough: Season 1
Close Enough should be enjoyed for what it is; an escape from our responsibilities as adults in the modern day. A perfectly outlandish and gloriously hysterical exploration of 30s-something adulthood.
Its many nostalgia-based in-jokes may not be able to lure in viewers on either side of its tightly targeted demographic, but if you fit in that range, it's effective and entertaining.
Close Enough retains a sense of fun all throughout, even as it expresses the frustrations of a generation still finding its footing in a sense, while beginning to raise their own kids.
The highest praise I can give Close Enough is that I actually want to see more of it, which is not always the case, and I look forward to whatever comes next.
Combined with the truth of a lost social contract allowing a clear path to stability and security, Close Enough has the potential to be a defining show of the 2020s.
