Movie Info

In this film, Richard Dreyfuss stars as a profoundly handicapped sculptor. Left a quadriplegic after an auto accident, the embittered Dreyfuss feels utterly useless, as both an artist and a human being. Dreyfuss simply wants to die -- but this is impossible, given the legal state of things in the 1970s.

July 24, 2019 | Full Review…

The inadequately and misleadingly titled Whose Life Is It Anyway? is a brilliant emotional exercise which ambitiously and heroically wrestles with the most emotional issue of all -- death.

Dreyfuss never seems to get far enough into his character to make his anguish -- or his decision to fight -- real.

Shallowness drowns the ambition of the project. [Full Review in Spanish]

Talky, depressing, ranting.
