I'm a fan of Dolan's work, so I hate to start this by saying that it's NOT worth watching this movie. In his previous works, Dolan has had that touch that makes his films peculiar and that leave the viewer to stir his head and feelings. This is not the case. The film is complicated, not because of its plot, but because of the lack of empathy you feel for the scenes and leaves in your head the idea that the movie does not make sense.

Xavier is always getting torn down by critics. Having seen and loved every one of his films to date I can say that this was a beautifully shot film that tackled a unique subject matter. It's fine if you don't get it but I learned long ago to form my own opinion before blindly counting out the films I watch. Critics have been like sharks when their is blood in the water. He took his time to edit it and lost one of the characters completely which to some was a sign of weakness. To me it was a sign that he loaded up on material and then sculpted it into his vision. I respect this artist 1000%
