If you've seen Casablanca or The Pianist, you already know half of this war drama that never becomes as hearbreaking as it aims to be. [Full review in Spanish]

There's little indication that this story requires a telling, or at least a telling by people with such didactic inclinations.

Ultimately, it undoes all such work by rounding off all the storylines in a highly clichéd and simplistic way.

To describe the central romance as Mills and Boon cheapens that imprint's worth. Every second World War cliché is here.

How are you with the old parleyvoo? Not so hot? Suite Française, the latest movie about France under the Occupation, neither.
