My first thought was that Gerard Butler faked his death to get away from the crazy wife... But I soldered on throught it. Totally a chick flick. Had to be written by a women.

First of all, usually movies like this aren't realistic or able to make people relate to the characters or situations but this film actually did the opposite. There were situations in this film that certain people could easily relate to. Of course, nobody has received letters from their dead significant other but they can at least relate to what Holly is going through. It depicts how somebody might react to losing somebody that is very close to them. The acting done by everybody really helped with that. With every scene, you could easily tell how they were feeling in that moment even if they weren't speaking. You could just tell through their faces and body. The acting between the two leads had to be good because you needed to feel like these two really loved each other and they succeed. In every scene that you see Holly and Jerry together, you believe that they are a happy couple and would do anything for the other. There were some problems though. One was the pacing of the film. Now this one mainly is affected by the scenes in this film and how they didn't really connect anything. They just jumped around with zero transitions at all. There also was a bunch of time jumps so you couldn't figure out what was going on and where Holly was in her life. Some of the side characters were annoying and unnecessary. In the end, they really were just there to be her "support" during this rough time. Finally, as much as I loved the couple I wish we saw them more. You see them together for a bit but I think it would have hit home if they showed them together because then the audience would be more sympathetic to Holly. In the end, this is a great Valentines day movie to watch either by yourself or with your significant other. I give P.S. I Love You a 8/10.

NOT credible. Irish accent = bad. Clichà (C)s about Irish culture = borderline offensive. Since when did Irish people hold funerals in the pub rather than the church then take turns doing whiskey shots to the deceased? As you can tell I didn't get far into it but it's one of the worst things I've seen in a good while. Really awful.

Sweet romantic love story. the fact that the loving husband died in the first 10 minutes was cruel. it made me cry through the whole movie. One of my favorites now.Though I didn't cry once re-watching.

This movie is non stop sappy love story. You don't get a break from the sappy sad love story, good luck to anyone watching while on their period.

Insulting to people who have really lost a husband. And on top of that, it is just awful. Really awful.

It's the sort of movie that no man will ever go to unless dragged by a woman. His sole reward will be the sight of Swank in sexy underwear.

This movie has the power to give people hope that there is an end to their grief when they lose someone. And yes it is unrealistic in parts but does that truly matter when you are suffering?

I never read the book, so I cant judge it from that. So this film is extremely joyful and sad at the same time, this film blends the two very well and is an overall great film to watch. Losing Gerry at the beginning was really sad but the journey he put holly on throughout the film was amazing. The locations was wonderful, especially the scenes in Ireland. Hilary Swank did a great job and was certainly not miscast, I have seen a few posts saying that and I completely disagree. Gerard Butler really set the film off and kept it consistently fun throughout.

Bland and over used formula. Predictable and daft at times.

If you want to cry your eyes out, watch this movie....I relate to so much of it, and it challenges you to live intentionally with the person you love most.

Swank doesn't quite fit in this type of role, but she does a decent job. The story has some convenient plot twists, but it's a sweet tale. A little sappy in parts, but it's touching. Bonus points for the very human characters.

Is this a chick flick or a real movie? I can't tell.
