Critic Reviews for One of Our Aircraft Is Missing
This is an exceedingly good flying-war film. Lovely photography, first-class direction, straightforward production and sincere acting from people who know their job put it at the top of its class so far.
Audience Reviews for One of Our Aircraft Is Missing
One of the most interesting wartime propaganda films ever made and why? Because this British production is actually a commercial for another country altogether. The crew of a shot-up Brit bomber goes down and must make their way across Nazi-occupied Holland to get home. Do get this done the team depends on the Dutch Resistance, and so the piece is about what the Nederlanders do get the boys home. Thrilling, while also being the most Dutch I've heard spoken outside of a Dutch production itself. Jolly good show!
i'm a big sucker for briitish war propaganda and this is one of the best. only the second film for powell and pressburger as the archers and it's clear they make a great team. the film involves a bomber crew forced to bail out over holland and try to make it home with help from the dutch resistance. gripping stuff
Might be the best WWII film made during the war. A tribute to the Dutch resistance as well as the RAF.
