Critic Reviews for #LIKE
Discomfort and confrontation, as well as some difficult dialectic, are definitely Pirozek's aims here.
This is a fascinating tale for the #MeToo era for sure, thought-provoking, realistic and disarming in equal measure.
While some viewers will want a clearer and more decisive finish for the teenage revenge fantasy Pirozek sets up, leaving the audience with a sense of dissatisfaction is part of what makes #Like so hard to shake.
In spite of its flaws, the film has timely, poignant things to say about what it is to be a girl / young woman in the digital age.
Though the concept is powerful enough on its own, Pirozek structures the thriller as a film noir, milking the ambiguity for every deliciously agonizing drop.
