Critic Reviews for Fiddlin'
[A]n undeniably heartfelt if overlong affair, especially for the uninitiated.
Even filmgoers with little taste for these arcane sounds may enjoy the doc, if only for the chance to spend an hour and a half in the company of so many prodigies who've put down their phones in the service of taking up catgut.
Fiddlin', though not a work of history, is lively, with its share of touching moments. It should be entertaining enough for most Americana fans, and offers a glimpse of how Appalachia grounds its identity in its music.
Fiddlin' still throws together some great footage of live folk music, as well as some hope that new generations will continue to see its value as a method of expression.
