Although a topnotch production and a good cast (Bruno Ganz' idiosyncratic impersonation of Adolf Hitler, however, is on the verge of parody), the movie's depiction of a precarious moment in German history is dubious in its intentions.

What a great film. It's extremely captivating and entertaining. Obviously the "German monsters" were human beings, and hence had a human side to them, which is why I don't agree with the controversy surrounding this movie. The cinematography is excellent as you really get the feel of war torn Berlin. And the acting was great too. Ganz does a spectacular job of portraying Hitler... from his angry outbursts to his charming side.
It's incredibly interesting to see how this mammoth force (which stormed Europe with ease) is brought to it's knees and how they go down. As expected some go down fighting right til they commit suicide, and others are ready to give up to the Russians once the end is nigh. I would definitely recommend this movie to everyone, especially those that love war movies and specifically WW2.

Downfall gives the best realistic visual of what the last days of the third reich looked like. The movie is based on memoirs and accounts of people who were there and lived it.

Brutal. Uncompromising. Truly reveals the absolute embodiment of despair.

a must watch movie
acting was amazingly believable
storyline was great
the stories of all the different characters intertwined was a nice touch
the pace of the movie can feel slow at times
overall this movie does a good job showing the human side of hitler and his odd thoughts that brought down the nation that relied on him, slowly turning them away from him. NIEN NIEN NEIN

One of the greatest movies I ever saw really showed many perspectives. And many will say it was over glorified but I disagree as for the nazis it really must have been the acapolypse.

A very interesting look at the final days of the second war world, through the perspective of the Nazis and the German people. The film is very well directed and the cast are all very convincing in their roles. I looked up a lot of facts about, Hitler and his generals and this film is very accurate. I would recommend this to anyone with an interest in the third reich, Second World War or just history in general.

An absolute work of art that's thoroughly engaging in all aspects. A must see for war movie fans or for people who enjoy a captivating story.

An interesting, inciteful and fresh look at the mental, physical and literal decline of Adolf Hitler and Nazi Germany. It runs slightly too long and could've been leaner, but it's well worth a watch if you're into World War II.

A really good film. This film was great in it's telling of the final days of Hitler and the Third Reich. Plus the actor that played Goebbels scared the crap out of me.

A masterpiece. Bruno Ganz as Hitler is phenomenal. Best portrayal I've ever seen. Utterly fascinating and engrossing. A movie at it's absolute best!

A brilliant one-of-its-kind inside look at the last few days of Hitler and his allies. Ganz is unbelievably good at his potrayal of Adolf Hitler, so much so, that you will become unsure if he is the real Hitler.

A really well made film

A fantastically tense film with incredible performances which place the audience right inside the collapse of the Third Reich. The film takes great care in accurately depicting key figures in the Nazi hierarchy, yet at the same time manages to humanise its characters, despite their unforgiveable and unthinkable actions and ideologies. Tension is sustained throughout the film and a harrowing and incredibly realistic sense of dread is brilliantly woven until the very end.
