Critic Reviews for Deadcon
A "trapped in an ancient chatroom" thriller that doesn't frighten much - until it counts.
Although Deadcon is light on violence and gore, the movie maintains a strong atmosphere of unease throughout.
Over the top silliness, and not in the good way, inflicts maximum damage and overrides some nice monster techniques.
The evil in this film - never fully rationalised - exploits virtual spaces to its own ends, giving rise to the best film about the demonic disorientation, fragmentation and paranoia of our wired existences since Daniel Goldhaber's Cam (2018).
A possession story made scarier by shades of Paranormal Activity, YouTube celebrities, and - *gasp* - internet modem dial tones.
