Custody (Jusqu'à la garde) (2018)
Critic Consensus: Custody uses formal restraint -- and a series of searing performances -- to take a hard-hitting look at the often painful bond between parents and children.

Critic Reviews for Custody (Jusqu'à la garde)
Mr. Legrand is skilled in the techniques of dread and suspense, and without sensationalizing or cheapening the story, he gives this closely observed drama the tension and urgency of a thriller.
Custody makes gripping drama from a difficult subject.
Legrand in his feature debut shows laudable technical ability and discipline.
As in all good movies of this kind, the ordeal of the children is not skimped. They bear the brunt, and the legacy, of the anguish.
Audience Reviews for Custody (Jusqu'à la garde)
I don't like that the daughter's unnecessary subplot doesn't go anywhere, but Denis Ménochet is fantastic here, embodying threat and despair in an anguishing drama that should remind everyone that there is no way to judge a situation fairly when you know only half the story.
