Despite only seeing this movie because it had Hayden Panettiere in it and me liking her from HERO's, I found myself enjoying this movie. Is it as good as the original? No. But, I still would recommend it because it does have a competent plot that keeps your interest. One thing I will give it credit for is that it isn't a "sequel". These are new characters and a new story and I found that I appreciated that much more.

I was really surprised at how entertaining this movie was. The two female leads, Panettiere and Knowles-Smith, carry the movie with ease. Good ensemble playing and good editing. The story itself isn't strong, but you don't care because the real entertainment is in the dancing and the interaction between the stars and co-stars. The ending credits dancing and goofing around is just plain fun.

Caricatures of every stock type seen through the eyes of a racist director, script-writer, and studio, all through the prism of peddling stereotypes. Embarrassingly bad cheerleader 'drama' about a white girl who wears camo and corn rows in order to fit in the 'hood. A minstrel show that would make Al Jolson proud.
