The heart of the film is its action, recorded with immense technical skill, and it is so pure that it's as poetic as anything I've seen on the screen in a long, long time.

Still surprisingly unclichéd; a film definitely to get your teeth into.

It's quite a documentary.

A fine sense of adventure and suspense, super underwater photography and a great deal of unnaturally "natural" chit-chat topside, between the dedicated divers.

It is more than a cinematic high. It is a justifiable anthropomorphism, a juxtaposition of hunter and hunted that Melville, or for that matter Moby-Dick, would have savored.

Blue Water, White Death may not be as outwardly thrilling as Jaws or its progeny, but respect must be paid to the daring team of divers/photographers for the challenges they faced and the risks they took. And it's all real, kids.

Audience Reviews for Blue Water, White Death

A team of scientists and documentarians search for the great white shark. A great blast from the past, this doc was made in the seventies and it shows, it truly was a different style of filmmaking then. But you do get to know the team and grow to like them as they get closer and closer to achieving their goal. Good stuff.
