directed by Richard A. Colla.
Not very good, but fun enough for nostalgic film/ sci-fi geeks like me, and it should be a prerequisite for anyone who watches the modern show.
Was inspired to resee the "Battlestar Galactica" tv-pilot and it wasn´t what I remembered it to be... This is a halfassed carboncopy of "Star Wars" with very poor fx, backdrops, wobbly acting and a not that of an intriguing story. However, there are things I do like with "Battlestar Galactica". Gotta like the characters Capt. Apollo (Richard Hatch) and Lt. Starbuck (Dirk Benedict), their outfits and Vipers. Gotta like Commander Adama (Lorne Greene). Gotta like Athena (Maren Jensen). And I reckon the platform for a solid story is there, but with obviously not the right peope in the production seat (and enough money) this just became as said a halfassed "Star Wars" copy. Nothing more, nothing less.
I remember the beginning of the A-Team showing Cylons with Dirk Benedict & thinking it was genius,
