Nicolas Cage chose the right amount of restraint in his portrayal of the unhappy, obsessed lead character in "A Score to Settle." But he has one almost over-the-top scene that will stay with you after the credits roll.
Cage at least makes a little bit of an effort, but since the film gives him nothing to play off of, those efforts are mostly in vein and after a while, you find yourself hoping that Crazy Cage will finally kick in.
Director Shawn Ku manages to capture a few moments that will make the latest Nic Cage supercut of the actor's bizarre on-screen moments. Otherwise this tale barely treads water, and all but sinks with its ridiculous third act twist.
