Critic Reviews for Visitors
Not the most striking or memorable film, but effective nonetheless.
Some might find Visitors slow, while others will be fascinated by the mental unraveling of the lead character.
Audience Reviews for Visitors
Effectively tense, claustrophobic psychological drama has Radha Mitchell battling her inner demons and fighting to maintain her sanity during her 3-month solo round-the-world sailing venture. Reality and hallucinations collide with her cat and periodic disembodied radio voices representing her only social contacts, that is until pirates, her mother, father, and mother's tea group each pay her a visit. Radha is terrific at chronicling her character's progressively deteriorating mental condition, finding more and more extreme ways to snap herself back to her senses. Marketed as a ghost story, this fits more into the Polanski category of unnerving filmmaking.
