Lie on lie on lie. This story is fake. Go back to books and find out who actually broke the code. British like usually, take credit for everything until they are caught on a lie and even after they still deny it. This movie should be promoted to British lies

Very, very good. But you have to pay close attention. What a time it was, the time this film depicts. Produced by, get this, among others, Mick Jagger & Lorne Michaels! Superb performances - and music unmistakable to the earlier 007's. Why? John Barry, as in "On Her Majesty's Secret Service." Watch closely - and enjoy! | - Norm de Guerre

Serious contender for worst film of all time. The acting is terrible, i mean really terrible, it is difficult to even work out what the story is supposed to be about, it is nothing to do with enigma in any real sense at all.

I liked it okay, but it was just okay and plenty did not make sense (not the mystery, which was good, but other parts of the story).

One of the better made thrillers of the year...intelligent and sly.

Another crib in to the WW2 business at Bletchley Park.

This film tries to do two things at the same time, neither entirely successfully: tell a historical drama about the decryption of Enigma and a spy thriller complete with femme fatale. As a historical film the spy drama is a distraction. As a spy drama it's completely without atmosphere.

Taut espionage thriller, with a surprising, yet logical plot, very interesting characters, and fine acting performances.

Reasonably intelligent plot and perfectly well acted/directed, but somehow Enigma just never really gets going. Even the exciting scenes aren't exciting. The whodunnit aspect to the plot was all a bit watery and unsatisfactory. 6.5/10

I wouldn't mind seeing this again, just for the cast. I fricken love Saffron Burrows and Kate Winslet. I also don't think I appreciated the historical significance of the story at the time I saw the film.

loved this film, but for the melancholy very end (to me), but mad about anything to do w enigma/Bletchley so v grateful (& for the book). Its fantasy, and lovely, so forget the Turing disservice! Thank u fr the film! xx

Brilliant!! Except for the always annoying Saffron Burrows, all of the actors play their parts perfectly!! (And a script by Tom Stoppard)!!

Good movie about WWII. "Enigma" is about secret messages, U boats, cospirations, traitors and it pretty much summarize a part of what it meant to be in war for England. I did like the fact that the story focuses of this often forgotten part of history, but I have to say that characters didn't look real to me. Acting was ok, but the whole plot was kind of 'unrealistic' and I honestly think it was just maximized for the big screen.

An overall good, enjoyable project. Just don't expect a particularly accurate historic movie. This one isn't either particularly well written and the story feels at moments kind of flat. But it's still ok and watchable. It has its highs an lows, though.

An amazing true life story made into a dull film.

the pacing of the movie is quite slow. but its a nice movie if you have the time.

The mystery doesn't revolve solely around guessing who the bad guy is -- there's a historical and personal context to the whole thing -- and the thrills are more cerebral than visceral.

A griping and involving story featuring a great script based upon a brilliant novel.

i loved the story even though it didn't give any credit to the TRUE genius who actually broke the Modern code...Alan Turing, And his Polish predecessors in the 1920's who Originally broke the code way back then....oh well...Hollywood Gobbles facts and regurgitates them as truths.

First time I saw it, I didn't like it, but each time I re-watch, I appreciate it more. Besides, it has Tom Hollander and Matthew McFadyen, and Jeremy Northam.
