Interesting film noir mystery whodunit with a dream-like, visionary tone.

The acting by MacRae and O'Brien was better than the script deserved, which elevated the thriller into a so-so one.

Audience Reviews for Backfire

A 1950 Film from the Film Noir Collection Vol 5. This is a excellent film, about a veteran who is recovering from wounds in WWII, he and a buddy have dreamed of having a ranch. While in the hospital the buddy disappears and is now accused of murder. So Bob and his nurse set off to prove Steve's innocent and also to find him. A Awesome Crime Drama,, and excellent story line, after seeing this you will be looking for more B&W to see. 4 Stars
